A quick go on Lyds's racing beast to start with (Thanks). Then a few minutes to calm my nerves then a sweet session on the normal gear.

10-15kts then patchy 15-19kts ENE Coal Point, NSW, AU

7.5m Turbo- WT64 ( 112ltres) - 32 WT weedy

 then 5.7m gator - WT57 ( 90ltres) - 28WT weedy

Today was going to be gybe practise day so I waited around till 3 ish , decided it wasn't going to be epic like yesterday, and rigged the big kit. Unfortunately I'd forgotten my good carbon booms and only had my heavy spare alloy hybrid.Frown

I was tired from yesterday and the big gear felt heavy and hard work..I wasn't fully powered up but that made the gybing easier and the chop was a lot better with the lighter wind. Muffed some but did get enough 'good' ones to make me feel chuffed..Tiring though..

I've lowered my sights for the moment. Rather than aim for planing gybes in the chop I'm just aiming for dry gybes with a good rig flip and a balanced stance at the exit..Cool

I don't know if anyone else does this but my current habit going into gybes in the chop is to go ' sh..t! sh..t! sh..t! all the way around until I sail off Laughing

Came in and realised the boom had dropped to the bottom of the cutout..grr no wonder everything felt heavy and yuck..

The boom clamp has lost the rubber grip thingy..I tightened it but I still had issues with it sliding down especially with uphauling..Yell I'll have to get some inner tube?

I wanted to use the lighter gear and it seemed to be kicking in a bit so I rigged the WT57 and Gator..Took ages to get going as the boom slipped down as I tried to uphaul so I was fiddling around with that in the water..

I missed the best of the wind rerigging and it was a bit patchy but the gear felt beautiful and light and comfy ( half tail flex). The board is a buzz fully powered but I do like those pleasantly cruisy powered sessions ( if you can get them). I had to drop into the water to raise the boom plus take my sunnies off ( couldn't see a thing).

I didn't stay out long as it was dropping but got some really nice gybes and a quick blat for a 2 sec..

I certainly feel more satisfied if I can get a session with some decent gybes in it..

Hopefully a decent gybe refresher at Budgy tommorow..if I've got the energy ..zz

Andrew and Tony on foils.  Lajos and I on fin. Ethan having his first go on a foil and going really well.
