Coal Point, NSW, AU, Southerly 10-15 (felt like 20-25)

JP175 SB 800,Std 115,255

First go on my new race kit. Somewhere between terrifying and exciting. But closer to the terrifiying end of the scale.

I felt like I had way too much lift, perhaps boom was too low. Harness lines were wrong. Foot straps were too lose. I only had one nasty stack (right in front of Lyds) after which I couldn't uphaul the sail. I'm not used to these big sails. I need to fit an easy uphaul.

After half an hour or so things started to feel better. Attempted a few gybes, but not used to the board being so wide.

Plenty of room for improvment.

9.4! that's a lot of sail on a relatively small board. 8.0 is big enough for my weary old muscles.

Yes Sue had to buy a new board as well.

Yep I resembled a submarine at times tacking, thought I would give it a good run. Now I can put it away until I get back into the gym my poor little pins were stretched 👌
