Waves, NC. Foil session in the morning, demoing the Stingray 140 which I then had to buy since it was too much fun. Slapper session in the 3S 96 in the afternoon using the same 5.0 sail. Chop had gotten quite nasty due to the wind direction and the change from WSW to WNW, and water levels were highest in 10 days, but still fun.

Waves NC at Hatteras Island Surf Shop. Colder today, put on the 4/5 neoprene. Days getting shorter too.  Wind from the West, gusty and the water is deep and choppy, just like a classic summer Kalmus day on WSW. No clear lanes for speed, no meaningful ramps to jump and nothing flat enough to make decent gybes. Even the wind-shadow-island at REAL Slicks was a bust, with the entire thing being a dead zone. For this location, a mostly Westerly direction makes things challenging.

Equipment: NP Atlas 4.7 (good in the gusts to mid-twenties, not enough for lulls in the high teens), RRD Wave Cult Sixty (still not sure what the volume is, but feels like maybe 85/90)
