Lake George, SA

Hmmm, that was interesting. Undecided

Arrived to find Jimbob rigged and keen to go. Hamma and I started to rig. Wind looked pretty solid. 25 with solid gusts to 30Kts.

%.2m and speed board for me. Changed fins and as I did up the back footstrap again with the drill driver I smapped the head off the screw. Buggea! There are 3 holes for the footstrap as I use a wide back one and this was the middle one. The other two had long since stripped out. Hamma offered me an ezyout and I spent hald an hour trying to drill the remails of the screw but the eaziout refused to bite on it. I gave up and cut the reamining proturding bit off so it woldnt cut my foot and used the further back set of holes. But all that waster at least an hour. I finally got doen the the islands as Jibob and Hamma were going back to the 5 mile. I dodnt find much flat water but got one short run to 38 knots behing the island. Went over to Kev's bay to seek ut some falt. saw a patch that looked flat but as I approched I slammed into racks with the fin. Not weed - ROCKS! SurprisedYell Munted the fin good and proper. First though was how i was going to get back upwind to the 5 mile. To my great surpride the board still went upwind very well, even with a great chnk of lower leading edge hanging out to one side! Surprised

Two tacks and I was back. I dont think I could have done much better with it undamaged. Makes you wonder about small dings and scratches....Undecided

I was going to put another fin in and chack out the top of the lake but Jimbob advised it was a waste of time - no flats up there - too deep. So that was that. very short and definitly not so sweet.

Heaps of wind today. Hoping it will be as strong tomorrow. Have to drive to the spit as JB says there is a few patches of flat water just east of the spit. Smile

We might have some more company tomorrow. Smile

CA40, Proto 18cm symetrical (now munted big time!). 2020 KA Speed 5.2m.
