Peter Daish (26030km): Boggy Lake, SA, AU NE gusty 10 to 20 knots. nice and smooth on the is direction. BIG hopes to grab some point back from NO.1 on the month but too gusty for 150km each and the hour. few dashes with Carl but each had to find their own way today as Carl would plan before me but was a little under done all day hoping that the wind would pick up.
113L jp with 7.8R8 , 35 TWS = 30.8 knots max then 135L with 8.6 , 43 TWS = 28 knots max then 113L with 42 Tribal mark 1 42 = 30.8 knots scary!max then 113L with 29 TWS = 31.7 knots max | ||||||||||||||||||
Captain skip bogan (50112km): Boggy lake 10 to 20 knot n / ne Early start with Daishy to try and rack up some k's and a one hour to top up numbers but the weather had other ideas lol. I think in future we will just go and have a sail and maybe the wind will blow. The wind slowly increased and the gusts seemed good but the lulls were questionable. Decided on the big board for float and the 7m with the forecast increasing. Used the tribal weed speed 33 again - worked awesome off the wind fast and surprisingly pretty good upwind. The 1st 25 k's were awesome managing to get on the plane easily. Went in for lunch and should have changed to 7.7 but stuck with the 7m. For the rest of the session it was GUSTY GUSTY GUSTY!! I put the Black project R375 in to compare and soon had a 32 on the dial - seemed to not show up lol. Close numbers on both fins with 30.6 on the R375 and 30.5 on the weedspeed. Very interesting to compare and hope to try the Atomic 28 weedspeed if enough wind next time to compare. Great to catch up Daishy and some great drag racing on one run was awesome fun and cheers for the after sesh beer. BRING ON GEORGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Patrik 115 / 2020 ka sails 7m race / Tribal weed speed 33 / Black project R375.

Unknown Location Bogan (10902km): Outer Herbs again. Same gear. I wanted to test my theory that wind would die out on a slack tide, then kick back in again stronger on the outgoing tide. For 15min, I thought my theory was right (mad scientist laugh maniac). But alas... Good to be out anyway. Much better day today than yesterday. and if you came early today and timed it right, you would be changing gear all of the time. The timing off the lulls/peaks were about the same time as it would take to drag gear back to rigging area and change LOL Hey, hey.. good number Pete and Carl at el Bog. Well done . You nearly went to 5 trees (Mark Zaza bragged to me once about sailing all the way out to "5 Trees" LOL) |
