Boyne Island, QLD, AU

F2SX54W, 5.8 Koncept, 25TWS

That was pretty hairy. Wind was gusting from the south, sailed in the dredged boat channel for the first time ever. Got a bit hectic on the outside when it hit the waves and where the wind was really cranking. Blew the gybes so just fell in and turned underwater. Got smashed once trying to get into the back strap. Awesome!

Holloways Beach, QLD, AU

Fun mid arvo solo sesh off the mudpit.  Wind 10~15kn SE- bit lighter than yesterday, so rigged the big hanky.

Wanted to get a few more laps in but the session was cut short when noticed the NP Carbon Boom had given way (complete fracture) near the front right hand... Luckily I was back at base in knee deep water...  Can't really complain as I've done quite a few k's out on the water with this boom, which I purchased off Andrew in Latte land for a very special mates rates price! (All it needed was a regrip and new head at the time)  Bit of a shame as the boom had a wide range 180-260cm, which fitted in well with the sails I frequently use.  Oh well, Christmas is just around the corner- perhaps Santa will surprise me with a new boom...  Unless, of course, anyone knows of a similar used carbon boom for sale or has recommendations for new or in this case, possibility of repair...

Good fun had regardless Cool

Used the Jag 125, Severne 8.6 M2, Venom 48

"Long May our Big Jibs Draw!"

Good to see you got a sail in mate. Don’t buy another second hand boom. Your past that stage. My Severne boom seems good. 😁
