Foil Session #47

RRD Firestorm 120L with 6.5M Unit & 1400 Redwing

Waited for an hour or so for the wind to turn & boot in.

I knew it would come but not sure how strong, it was looking like a repeat of yesterday looking at the coast readings.

Took a punt but knowing I would probably be overpowered on the 6.5MN if it did reach inland properly.

Hit the water just as it kicked in & was slightly overpowered but dealt with itKiss

Turned into a great session with lots of powered runs & lots of carving turns & heaps of tacks because I stayed inside the sandbar.

Swapped gear with Tailwind late in the day to test each other's set-ups.

My first off in a long time, the Pryde foil just wants to go upwind & when it does it powers up big timeSurprised

A couple of half arsed gybe attempts were a bit ordinary, need to start practicing these, hopefully without injury.

Top foil day, they just get better & better with more TOW.

So Paul.....what's your take on the Pryde vs Severne foil?  ....given I have the Pryde also and it can tend to want to go up wind and tip you off sideways...just needs a different technique I guess...

Steve, will discuss at the beach, there is a plan, all I can say is you need to speak with the Pryde boysWink
