Rumour was a few Bogans were having a final sail for the year so I decided to make up the numbers with a lazy cruze at stansbury. RIgged the 6.3 for the forcast & went with extra float (christmas weight belt) of the CA101 as it was a bit off shore & the tide was so far out I only wanted to walk out once. The FF22 was the only option with the spit high & dry. Spent the first 45min battling to stay on the plane & keep my ground so I didnt end up past the jetty out in the deep. The wind slowly built to a nice cruzeTongue out Headed back in as Simo & a random headded out when there was some more water over the spit. was going to finish the sail with a beer with Simon but the nannie state runied thatCry. What wil be nextFrown

LG from Cockys, SE Heaps.

F#en gw60 watch was on charger all night then use it today and just 1 bar went flat in 20 minutes.

JP70 slalom 4.9 Loft racing, 24 choco weedy for 20 inutes then as couldn't see speed went on JP wave 23 weedy and 3.5 Ezzy wave.

Had John for Company today. Solid wind today having beers at 6 oclock it was bloddy cranking. but not real smooth had to find the spots and hang it out.

I'm gunna buy a garmin watch next week over this bloody lococys.

Went for a cruise down the Mouth with Daishy and Rob.

Borrowed Peter's 135 jp as the wind light and didn't want to glue too much. Went for a nice cruise a d tge flat water was super. Ultra flat and great fun gybing in the mouth entrance.

Wind picked up and was a handful getting back downwind to tge carpark. Went over tge front on going over the back of rolling chop downwind. Then we changed down to 7.8 s and 114 board. Was a lot better and more controlled.

Had a nice beer on sunset at the mouth and then spent 4hrs to bring in 2021 new years on the Hindmarsh bridge. Cheers for the noodles Pete 😉.

Some random was threatening to jump the 3m down and was too selfish not to do it 😀.

Great day all the same. Gps lost 20km and is almost stuffed. Lent my spare can more from tricky to Pete as he forgot his but all good. Cheers Tricky for the gps.

Great numbers Daishy 😀

First season at LG for the season. Baptism of fire, 30knt + .On the 5.0M3, 54cm Tabou, 20cm VSW and over powered. Sailed with Jimbob, who ended up changing down to a 3.5 wave sail. Hard to find smooth water as it was so windy. Launched from cocky's and mainly sailed the weed beds in front of the spit. Water hasn't quite dropped to the right level at this stage. A bit of a challenging day.

Nice speed Jimbob, with a 4.9 m sail!!

Jimbob just buy another Locosy!!  yours is stuffed, I have seen it. its rusted out. lol.

I think 350$ even per year to log speed and data is reasonable. My watch is into it's 2nd year and and pretty happy that it is still working considering the punishment it goes through.

I have looked at other options and there really isnt any unfortunately.  Just tap into that big super of yours!!  you cant ake it with you,  he he

Thanks for the offer Jay but it’s not worth the hassle. Still have a gt31 will try that just hope my old pouch holds up. Really like the ease of a watch. Hopefully John will post he had a couple knots up on me. He was on a 5.0 reflex.

Hey Tricky, the thoughtful sign was for our benefit, to keep bottle caps and brocken glass off the rigging area. Laughing

Great video Daishy, have sailed there years ago but what is the best direction?

Peter Daish

SA
Australia
1180 days ago

sailable from WSW to SSE . anything else is NO GO.

best direction is SW , SSW, or SOUTH is the speed run along the  bank with outgoing tide is even better as the mouth is smooth like in video.

SW is great but the speed run finishes in chop . thats when I did a 38.

SW is easier to sail as the wind is 90 degrees to the sand.

Its a complex aread with the dredges there and even expert sailors need a little local knowledge or you WILL  fuck up , on sand bars, dredges and dredge buoys.

I know the area like the back of my hand and even  when to use a weed speed compared to a pointer so NEW sailors should call me and get some advice. 0412311796

GOOD TIMES

JUST A WARNING.

if you missed a jybe where we were sailing ( IN MIDDLE OF MOUTH) and yr sail filled up. you would be in trouble in under 2 mins.!!

You would have too ditch or sail and paddle for yr life.  A non surfer, would I suspec,t die as they got sucked out into 6 foot waves.

This is the worst case scenario but I dont want anyone to think they can just rock up and sail.

If you want another opinion ask Rob or Sam. They actually brought up this potential disaster.
