Dutchies.

Perfect conditions for foiling today, around 15-18K with the odd stronger gust towards the end of my sesh.

I also managed to pick my perfect combo...L150 + 6.2 Naish Force + 76 wing.

Nicely powered up and I had an absolute ball.  It got a bit feisty towards the end of my sesh as the breeze seemed to pick up a bit around 4:30, but then it faded as I was derigging, so my timing was impeccable.

Loved it...a fantastic way to kick off the New Year Cool

This is better.  All correct now but has anyone got any ideas how to crop a drive back down the freeway from my GW 60.  It makes me look pretty good.  I tried in GPS Speedreader and cropped it but it didn't stay cropped.

Quick session with Ant in the bay. Dropped out towards 5ish and swung SE so almost got caught out the back. WindTech CM with 7.8 Loft RB & 24cm Stealth fin. Good to be able to keep up the tradition of sailing on NY day as I've done for the last don't know how many years.

Reg, loads of info on alphas on Seabreeze, others will chime in I expect. I think of it as a 500m distance travelled roughly in the shape of a U, the fastest will be a gybe rather than a tack. The end of the U needs to be within a 50m diameter circle of the start, so it is quicker to be at about that 50m distance.

Have fun and welcome to the challenge. It is addictive, in the end you are really competing with yourself!

Quick, take a screenshot of the 6 'jelly beans' beside your name, you are in a high performing team and those 6 may evaporate quickly.

Nice work Reg! Who would have though you could score PBs today? and congratulations on the jelly beans. You will have to work hard to hold them.

Windxtasy.......Getting PB's when you're learning to sail again after 25 years and only logging two sessions, everything's a PB pretty much!   At 67kg on a 120 Litre board with a 7.0 up I go quite well in 24kmh.

Decrepit, do I assume that you are far from decrepit?  In the past few weeks since my return to the water, I've found that windsurfing has morphed into an I.T. sport for those that like velocity.  I was more suited to wave riding and similar madness back in the mid 80's to 90's but have now chosen the slightly safer option of flat (ish) water sailing.  It's been an interesting learning curve for a mature person!

Reg, at the moment I'm living my name, lower back and hip problem, doubt I'll be sailing anytime soon.

We seem to be well matched, very simiar weight and like you I have a wave sailing background, but speed and stratergy sucked me in.

Now it's flat water and strong wind, and I do mean flat water! Chop is really bad for my back, So it's mainly Liptons or Lilacs for me lately.

If you haven't looked already, here's the overall international over 70 rankings from 2020. There was only 21 of us last year, until you swelled the ranks a few days ago.
