Great to be on the blue stuff. Tried out the freewave gear. Board was incredibly smooth to jump and land and felt real nice underfoot. The nose could do with a bit more rocker up top but other than that loved it. Sail was real slow and felt like a fast dredge all day but dont think there was enough wind for the sail size. Missing being able to hit swell at speed so will be interesting to try the kit in 25knots.

After waiting around for 2hrs, the wind finally filled in to a fairly steady S/SEaster 15 to 20kts. Was having a great two hours, then my boom broke while way out on a Starboard run, Helms Deep, thankfully got back safely, but had to call it quits. Plenty of sailors out enjoying the conditions.

Clive, the wind might have been average, but looks like it finally came in on the Gold Coast after a long wait, and you did lots of U-turns.

Good speeds there Steve, Mark and Clive.

Shane, this sounds like a scarey adventure. Were you able to sail on port tack with the remanants of your boom or did you have to swim? What time did you get back to shore?
