Albany, WA, AU Manta 54 speed, 5.4K, 18 tribal delta 18 kn E, tide 0.5 - a bit draggy for speed but nice and flat

Now I have the numbers but it overwrote the story... Here goes again...

I had sore arms after the drive yesterday and what ever is going on with my elbows, and couldn't even lift the shopping bags this morning, so I shouldn't have been sailing, but you can't come to Albany especially and not sail when the conditions are nice and cruisy, so I popped a couple of Panadol and rigged conservatively and off I went.

I had to rest a lot on account of post pneumonia poor lung function, but I improved as the afternoon went on, which was partly due to tuning the gear better, and maybe the Panadol kicking in?

No great speeds, partly because I was a bit scared to send it in the shallows after my broken rib last year, and partly because I had not rigged big enough.  I was surprised to score my best alpha of the year, because my alphas need a lot of practice and are still a lot less smooth than they used to be (could be the sore elbows. I am really reluctant to throw that sail forward).

My best distance since 5th Feb last year, which was my first ever session at Lilacs.

It was fun sailing with Morts and Waricle. Thanks for the company.

The weed was a bit draggy, but the water was warm, the sun was out, it was warm enough for my summer wettie, and better that being in lockdown in Perth. The only down side was the annoying nutty things that kept getting in my booties!

Definitely a top 10 Lilacs day!

when you buy booties Anita make sure you get ones without holes in! Lilacs can let small sharp shell framents in. Very uncomfortable

Yeah the meshy ones even with very fine mesh will still let the grit & small shells get in there.

Very nice to see you down here agin Anita, you looked to be going well when I was de-rigging. A good warm up & hopefully we'll get some more wind during the week.Laughing

Thanks Morts, the booties are not mesh, but they do have drainage holes and that must be where the grit gets in. It seems to get in while sailing though, which I can't figure.
