sboardcrazy (24291km):
15-23kts SSE 5 mile Lake George 7m M2OD – RSS2 ( 90ltre) – 21.5cm FF ( cutdown 24) Then 6.2m OD – 80 iso- 18 tribal delta Not a bad day although I’m starting to get too focused on results rather than just enjoying it. Sailed 3 – 6.15pm Tried some more alphas and got really excited when the datafield said 22.5 as that would have been a PB. Andrew pointed out that it was at 70m Happy enough with my gybing but by the time it kicked in I’d been out 2 hrs and was pretty buggered. Went in and rigged the smaller board and fin. Once it was really strong I got one gybe which felt good leaning into the turn but was probably 100m wide.. The next I ended up stacking it and going over onto the front of the board on entry . I decided I was too tired and wouldn’t try any more.. I’m getting used to the tribal. It only spunout once and was easy to get back in but I’m a bit cautious with it. I just ‘fang’the Fangy’s.. Some good flat bits either side and 15cm chop in the middle. I went for a few bearaways but struggled to get much over 30kts. Some felt really powered up but only 29kts.. Chased Andrew and Sam down a nm ( note to self try not to get too demoralised).. They were powering the full time. I got heaps of lulls and struggled to get any power , at times only doing 23kts I had another go at the end and got a bit better wind but it was still patchy with the best being in the chop were I struggle to get 29kts..Got the 2 sec on the last run with a spurt out the front. Next time we get decent wind I’ll have to concentrate on the 2 sec. Witto , Dizzy , Alan , Tiges , Andrew and Nic and Glynn and others further up.
