13-19kts W - WNW gusts to 20kts Packem Pt Lake George, SA, AU

6.2m OD M2 - RS2(90ltre)- demo of 21cm Budgy Fangy speed special

Well I underigged by rigging for the forecast rather than what was there. 6.6m would have been the go

I think a lot of people did the same.

Easiest access to the area around the islands so far this trip. It was 'choppy 'most of the way across but beautiful over there. Some flatwater and very scenic. Puty I didn't have more oomph to use it.

 I'm still working on alphas.

I'm pretty happy with my gybes generally. they are starting to feel pretty seamless and I'm naturally starting to do the footchange as i flip without even planning it..

Still seem to go into them too far off the wind so I miss the radius. The few good ones I did I didn't have any decent wind on the exit.. still a work in progress.

I'm getting worn out. Sailed 11/12 days..so a short session although the wind turned off. Nic stayed out longer than me to day so she should have a distance PB.

I was powered ok in the gusts but a bit underdone in the lulls but the Fangy got me upwind ok.I think that is probably a better speed than I would have got with the cutdown 24. The foil on the speed demo is about half the thickness of the 24.It felt a bit tentative at times and spun out once in the 10-15cm chop.. The cutdown 21.5 would probably have had more lift and stuck better but the 21 special isn't bad.

Saw Russ flying through the flat area below the islands yodelling as he went..Laughing I think he was having fun!

Heaps out - The St George mob ( sorry can't remember all the names), George, Ashley , Wendy and Darren, Paul , Chris. Andrew , Nicole and lots more..

Lake George, SA, AU.

Mistral Explosion, TR7 5.5m

Not particularly good sail, was relieved when others said the same (meant it wasn't just my lack of skills).  Stayed out just long enough to get a pb, in the only category I had any chance in.  (but, it's not about the numbers ...)
