Flex (15736km): Melville Beach, WA, AU Wind looked like coming in well down south and rising steadily at Meville so headed out relatively early to be rigged and ready when it came in around 2. Was dead on arrival as so headed to 2ndWind as my repaired main batten was pretty flakey (i.e. shit). This time I called ahead and Jez said his excuse for not being there the 2 times I swung past previously to sort the issue he had been 'regenerating'. Appears he is (according to him) the new Dr (who)....who would have guessed? He would make a good one I think, or at least a good spaceman (his words by the way so I cannot be accused of insulting him). Eventually fixed the batten (after taking 10 minutes to select the best tune to work to of course) whilst watching the wind turn yellow and trying to keep the chit chat to min. and not delay proceedings further. An hour later I escaped with a good sail to turn up and had not missed anything. Rigged up anyway, headed out with the hope it would come in, tide was great, sun was out so another day in paradise, a few gusts came and went and that was it. Certainly not bad but was hoping for another knot or 2. 120 Tabou Rocket, 7.8 Severne M2 (good batten but didn't help), 33 choco weed
Antman (23042km): Carlisle St, Safety Bay, WA, AU Quick blast in the bay on the 98 Falcon,6.2 NX,and a 29 ws that was no match for the ribbon weed.
Jeff (13393km): Pinnaroo Point, 5.8 - pretty light but not too bad.
Pointman (25080km): Foil @ Dutchies. Looked fresh when I rocked up just after 3, so I went with the 6.2 + 76 wing. Breeze festered when I got on the water, so I had a bit of a frustrating sesh in the up and down breeze (I really hate it when I can't waterstart , cos uphauling in chop is a PITA). Still managed a few sweet runs, so it wasn't all bad, I was just hoping for a bit more consistency. I reckon I still had more fun than Dan, who dogged half way to Africa and back
