Arrived to 5knots with Flex and Ant hoping for a big blast so went out with the 56falcon and 6.6 wp29. The wind didn't quite deliver in and was super gusty but still got a few gusts between trying to get planning alot of the time. Great board choice for the few gusts and a poor choice for a cruisy sail. Saw a 40.1 peak which shows the gusts compared to the 2sec and 5*10. Great fun.

Great sail with Woody and Flex on the Mandurah pond.Good call Woody :) Plenty of power in the gusts and some nice flat runs along the weed bank.6.2 NX,90,RS2, 25 ws.

1081 days ago The most frustrating wind I have ever sailed in at Melville. Not a light weight persons day! I tried iSonic 90, JP 54 slalom, 6.2 Mach3, 5.0 Mach3 and a bevvy of different fins. All to no avail. However, Chris Lockwood had no such problems and was zooming all over the place at very high velocity. Ricey, Flatchat and .......

A pretty gusty session as expected with a few die hards. Some strong bullets coming through but very short burst. Super high tide but relatively flat.

1081 days ago 2 categories Coodanup, WA, AU Based on captains forecast it sounded as if Coodanup was going to be the go but a lumpy session it would be...at least there would be wind and I could see if 5 hrs of sanding the fangy fin did anything. How wrong could I be. Seems like 6 times the charm for Mandurah. Arrived with little wind in sight but there was a blue van already there. Turns out this is Woody. He thought chook pond was the go today but wanted to check out another spot so took me there while we waited for the wind. Tide was too high for that so came back and rigged up. Antman rolled up and collectively we headed for the pond. Wow, what a spot! First flat water in Mandurah for me, knee deep, no seaweed, no weird creatures and fairly firm clay bottom. Was even about 10m section where you could call glass. Woody was complaining there wasn't enough wind for him but there was plenty for me. Couldn't really tell much difference between the rough as versus about 1200 grit finish fangy fin. Certainly didn't have the upwind ability of the TWS which I could have got away with today as deep and no weed. FF certainly wasn't as solid in the gybes as had a few offs which is not common for flat water but this might have just me getting used to it. However was a fun session and nice to sail with guys considerablly better than me. Nice to meet you guys finally and thanks for showing me around. 120 Tabou rocket, 6.7 RRD Move, 22 FF (1200 grit) Could have gone longer but didn't bring any hydration as didn't expect anything other than a rough hard workout.

Went for a couple of runse and decided to retire uninjured. Those gusts were too strong for me.
Reg was showing me how to do it, after he got airborn, with 7 kilos of lead I believe.
Tim was going really well also.
For me it was mainly a good chat on the beach, and looking forward to sailing another day.
