Good session with Ash again.

Went for the 1 Hour first on 97 litre iSonic, 6.2 Overdrive M3 and 27cm Weed Speed

Then, had a go for some speed when the wind picked up on the 80l iSonic; 5.5 Severne Mach 2; 25cm Weed Speed.

Had a couple of good speed runs but also some near misses crashing on the sand bar and a bit of "operator error" towards the end with a channel marker and the sail being closer than was comfortable Yell.

Pity the wind didn't kick in a bit earlier before the tide was so low - made bearing off a bit of a lottery.

Good stuff!

Great sail with Marchy, well done 2x PBs. Started out with hour, wind direction and tide were perfect for long runs along Swan Island. WNW 25 knt. Fully powered on 7.0m, sailed from 11.10 to 12.20 and was getting way overpowered last 15 min. Only dropped one gybe but quickly got going again. Nice to get hr PB.

Was exhausted and came in for lunch break and to change down to smaller gear for some speed runs.

Falcon 50w/68L, MXR ws 18, Reflex5 5.6

Got out again at 1.30 and the wind went ballistic for brief time with rain squalls up to 40 knt. Could not do much as was too overpowered, just had to wait out in water. Difficult to sail with rain pelting in face and squinting out of one eye. Went for one run slightly downwind. But tide was getting too low and shallow, and no flat water with high wind. Wind then started to swing to SW and drop off, so was a challenge getting back.

Speed vs time graph, got steadily faster over first hr:

Wind readings from local Queenscliff Yacht Club on 10m pole. Wind at ground level/2m about 5-10knt less:
