Safety Bay, WA, AU

Brilliant day at SB, very flat in between the waves. Not quite enough wind for the 5.3 Gator except in the gusts.

Great turn out for mid winter mid week

Safety Bay for some speed today. The flattest I've seen the bar in many many days spent down here, pity the wind was a touch light. Slowy was at it like a madman again sailing the bar right on dark in the squalls.

Awesome afternoon on superflat water.Cool

One day I will rig the right kit here!

As we were rigging it was blowing nicely and so rigged the 5.7 and the nonose. As we hit the water it dropped then swung and we enjoyed silky smooth runs along the bar.

I think the addiction may be catching as Snake rerigged at 5.15 as he thought the wind was coming back and Scarrgo ( "I am not staying after 4") was still out there with dark approaching.

Managed to break the bottom batten in the 5.7 so that is my excuse for not going fast.

Well done on the PBs, JJ it was good to see a big grin on your face as you derigged. Have to get a smaller speed sail now!

Great speeds there, Snake! I assume from the 5x10 that you got some nice runs after I left.

Should be PBs to come from Scarrgo too. Don't worry about the fin I will grab it next time I see you.

Great stuff team. Time for a little rest.

Warp 5.7, nonose, KA23

Safety Bay, WA, AU

awesome day at sb

mark was going to lend me his 27 weed fin went to put it in my board but it was not even close to fitting which was a bit strange so he gave me his fav 24 banshi speed weed which was awfully nice considering the wind droped out and he was struggling with his 23

anyway got down there early hoping to finish early was pretty fresh when i rocked up so rigged the small gear again

got out on the water to find it insanly flat was so easy to do a pb was no where nearly as scary or on the edge as my other attempts in storms to go fast, just a bummer there wasn't some better gusts could of easily gone faster if i was powered up properly

got lots of nice alpha's and sweet jybes in the flat conditions, once again could of done better alpha's if i had been powered up the whole time

cheers for lending me the fin mark have to get a good small weed fin of my own now that was awesome

bad luck jj on that incident shame somthing like that had to taint such a great day

5.0 koncept, 76 isonic, marks wistling 24 banshi speed weed thing Laughing , 6kg

Safety Bay - embarrassing to be so slow - but no point denying it.

Danijel, you're on track to sail every day in August, if your sails will last that long!Smile

Belatedly I googled how to dry out wet phones and found some excellent information. Too late for my phone, sadly, but for the rest of you who may suffer the same fate one day here's the link http://www.seabreeze.com.au/forums/Windsurfing/General/drying-out-wet-mobiles/ ... and it did mention using alcohol to clean the circuit boards. Just don't let the phone soak too long.

I'm glad this string of windy days is over. I'm knackered, and looking forward to the pause.

Sorry your phone is gone. I'm sure Leon is happy about it though.
At least something positive in otherwise unfortunate sequence of events.

nice one Jake! Thats a good set of numbers considering the wind wasnt really there. Those squalls at the end werent very solid unfortunately- totally lit pinching up for the run and then bang into a lull. The water was the flattest I've ever seen it today. Nothing like the lumps we've been getting down there in the past few days.

Thanks to all for the nice comments, I guess when you are starting you expect PBs as you start to learn the speed tricks.

Scarrgo had a great day too today, the youngest and the oldest being able to compete together is pretty cool.

Its so much fun when the water is flat.

Great work JJ & Scarrgo. Safety Bay is an awesome spot for speed on the right wind and tide. I think all you windsurfing bums can take a break now, so us working stiffs can stop feeling envious!

Whoo Hoo Sean! Well done. Only a bit slower than Mark, and that's saying something. I can see we can expect great things from you in the years to come.

Flat water! I Wish I could have been there with you today.

thanks guys was so much fun down there today

the flat water, the end of run hazards of weed and surf (got alot of air off a little wave at the end of one of my runs didn't end well Embarassed)

and to have the best score in 3 categories for the day i'm pretty stoked

just wish the wind had come in a bit more

these great speeds a probably thanks to lao's super fav musical fin

so we've worked out his secret now, just call me with your cash offers to borrow his fin for some pb's Wink

Well done guys.

I found it a bit tricky down there today, not enough water anywhere I went for the 27 fin Frown so was dragging it throught he sand quite a lot. Didnt do the fin much good but it was already dinged up.

Then left GPS turned on in the car and cant be bothered booting up XP on my laptop so I can run realspeed to trim the excess and find out just how slow I was. Might do it when I have some time.
