What better way to celebrate the transit of Venus than by having a dawny?

Half a dozen other madmen out there as well, would have stayed longer but snapped a footstrap screw.

Lake Preston, WA, AU

got there early and it seemed fresh

hopefull, i rigged for perhaps 25

and what i got was maybe 12 to 18

oh well was fun cruising in the nice flat water

bonus was that i didn't get anything above my shoulders wet (in the lake my head did get plenty wet from standing around in the rain)

oooooohhhhhhh and stroppo gave me some carrot cake Laughing

anyway i was over it and left, but it did seem to be coming in as i left so the numbers will be interesting

6.2 reflex, 90 mistral sl, 24 custom weedy

Point Walter, WA, AU 6.4K, 85S 32 Vector

Wasn't room in the car for three boards and my daughter, so on the basis of the green arrows when I left home, the big board stayed.

Wrong move. (I know you're saying I should have left the daughter!)

Of course the wind picked up again once I got home.

At least I got my footstraps adjusted so my booties would slide in. I thought I'd done that last night but they weren't big enough.

Very disappointing. I worked like a dog all day yesterday to get some good TOW today. Frown

Point Walter, East, 7.3 and isonic 120 - very nice to get on the water, nice and cruisy for most of the time but the gusts at the end got a bit of a handful. The 120 seems to love going upwind and once I got it past the eye it was ok downwind (when overpowered). First time ive had the 7.2 pushing back on my front hand like that.

Good to see a few of the tema and nice to meet the Tobys Smile - thought I was woosing it out when I headed in at the end  but then Raygun told me he wouldn have as well if he could have got downwind.

Joined the two files from the GT31 together in realspeed, interesting that ALL of the numbers were better after including the 2nd session (when it wasnt cruisy), included the NM chasing Raygun.

Wen't down to WWE this morning after wussing out of the road trip due to the back.

Saw JJ go out an get one run. Went up the road to have a chat with Windxtasy, Hardpole and the Toby twins and the wind dropped further.

Went home for lunch and more heat packs. Wind kicked in about 12.30 but I missed the best of it rigging at WW only to see a sail appear out of nowhere and score some nice runs. Jonah will have best team river speed today.Laughing

Back survived ok and one 30 display run on Bubba had a smile on the dial. Called it quits as the kites came out.

All runs south of the bar on a very high tide.LB7,430,Bubba,CF42

Sorry you didn't get a sail in Windxtasy and Mineral.

Good to see young Nebbian hasn't given up on usInnocent

what a murky miserable day but i had some fun! started from majestics (i think) sailed up to melville where i got my fastest speeds and then set off on a mile run, would have been a cracker but got wiped out by some big gusts closer to pint walter and had to slow own, then down to the sand bar for a bit of a speed circuit. caught up with our fearless leader doing a bit of physio on his back (ie sailing) and then sailed home. a non stop effort resulting in white fingers...reminded me of sailing in UK!

Majestic Point.

Short sesh after work.

Got down there just after 4 and it was pretty uninspiring, looked like 15Kish and it was bloody cold.

Rigged the 8.4 TR8 + 135 Patrik + 46 Sting and hit the water.

Woooohooo!  Breeze had picked up to 18-20K and this combo was smokin Laughing

Much better than expected sesh.  Had a few ripper bearaways into the Peli flats.  Best one yielded the 2-sec peak and 31.3K 10-second Cool

Stoked with these speeds on the big girl, I knew she had some top end, and this is easily a PB for this combo.

Sailed until it was getting dark and I couldn't really make out the chop anymore.

Great sesh. This combo rocks and I'm really starting to get the Patrik dialled. SmileSmileSmile

Yoyo's run. Not as good as I was hoping for... but is it ever? A fun cruise with some great company.

Sorry to hear that Windxtc... hate it when that happens.

If it's any consolation I got halfway down the freeway before realising that I'd left my booms at home... That chopped off at least 40 mins from my sesh!

Nice one Lao glad you made it BACK out on the water after all. was thinking of you when the wind picked back up after your sacrificial departureSurprised.

Yes Anita it sure did pick up, the 27kn squall that came through was too much for my 6.5, 111 combo and tired arms, legs, feet etc.

Good to meet you too, Hardpole, hope next time for more consistent wind and blue sky.

I feel really cheated. I can't insert graphics but if you look at the seabreeze graph the arrows are green before I left home, yellow while I was at the river (a four hour stretch, we're not talking 5 minutes!) and green again after I got back. The lowest point was just after I rigged. Those of you who got a sail in this afternoon should be glad I went home.

Tough life being a working stiff, Snake?

Big mission Jonah! Saw you appear as I was rigging and assumed you had come from WWE not Majestics!

You had more faith in the wind to get back than I did. You got the best of it. Saw what I guess was your best run from behind the island out to Mosman Bay. Looked sweet! Well done on the naughty and Hr PBCool

Nice speed on the big gear, Pointy! Bet that felt like 40!Surprised

Windxtasy, we all appreciate your sacrifice. Wind karma will come your way.Innocent
