Pelican Point, WA, AU - 7m + F2 XTC 115 for a while, then BRAND NEW spanking Futura Wood 101 Cool

Picked up Futura this morning, and was keen to try it but Pelican was marginal, so I started with XTC and 7m.
Marginal or not, couldn't resist to try the new board. You know, you have to remove the tags first...SmileSmileSmile
I loved it. Had to fiddle with straps a bit, and then it just worked. Even on sub-planing it worked better than XTC.  Very impressed by this board.
I got overpowered on 7 a few times, but it was just great today.

Cant' wait to go again tomorrow.Tongue out

Nice blast at the beaver, mostly up near pengos today which was really nice. Rigged small but was nice to have a cruisy sesh for a change. Loving the 4km runs on this combo today Cool

Had to work this morning, but rewarded myself with a nice sail this arvo.

Launched from Shoalwater Bay with some kiters from work, but as it kicked in couldn't resist sailing up to the beaver for some speed runs. Nice and flat earlier on for my peak, but always wishing I had a slicker fin in. Sailed back to say farewell to the kiters (packed up due to too much wind... !?!?!) and then once again headed back for a couple of runs and ran into Jake.

Nicely powered on the big sail and small board. Plenty of potential around this area for some great sessions, I think I'll have to get down here more often.

Not sure what the wind would do so went for 6.5m on 122 Isonic. Picked up and changed to RRD 98 with 32 fin. Love that board. Knocked the fin last time so sanded it down slightly: it used to sing at above 20knots, now it screams. Sounds exciting but presumably it is not efficient.

Nuclear winds, monster chop - a real challenge. Got a 61 on the radar gun (tied with Norts and Claude) - 37 display GPS too peaky to last.

Saw Slowy's epic crash, heaps of other mishaps and had a few frantic tail-walks myself.

Then to round off a manic day the tent nearly took off in the night squalls.

A great day though, thanks to Reg and his wife for getting it together.

Lancelin bay, 5m wave sail and Kombat 79l. High tide and lots of wind so very rough and choppy. Great fun blasting around, nearly changed down to the 4.2 but got used to 5m after a while. Just after I packed up the hail came down very heavily, then the rain, garden and road both flooded. Saw Werner head past just before it struck so hopefully there werent too many out on the water. Had to meet the real estate agent on the Sunday, tidying up the house to put it on the market.

Sorry I missed you Pugsie. I was on orange Ezzy Freeride 7m.
I'm sure I'll be on Futura 101 mostly from now on Laughing so when you see 7m orange Ezzy and Futura, coem by and say hello.

I think you may have passed by in the opposite direction and waved? Short hair? I remember seeing you last week there.
I'm almost certain to be there tomorrow.

Yes Anita. It's great. Greg and Mark also advocadet Futura. Glad I listened to you all.

No point in keeping the F2 any more, as this board does everything F2 can do,  so I advertised it this morning.

Now to find a 130L-ish Futura...

36 in those conditions is quite something. All that open ocean training has paid off. Well done JJ!
