Foil cruise to Fish Rocks - slices upwind easily and super fun going really slow downwind trying to get drive from the swells while de-powering the sail.
Had more wind than I needed most of the time (15 to 18) for testing the new sail, but it worked brilliantly in the lulls.
It's really light and I can use my light wave boom. The twin cams keep nice shape when there's no wind and it rigs with a tightish leech.

A pretty disappointing day. I lost what little fitness I built up while on holidays. I started with a new MUF Delta 22 fin for some speed over the bank at smellville. I had a couple of good runs but couldn't really see what was going on because last sail a couple of weeks ago I left the GW60 on while driving home so the max speed was set at freeway 51 knots. So while in the water I tried to clear the results and ended up clearing the log. The new fin felt like it had weed wrapped around it so I swapped for a 28 weedy but by then I had a cramp in my calf, spend an age waterstarting and lost my mojo. I'm finding it hard to change from using the smallest sail I can get away with to the biggest, especially when it comes to full planing gybes. No to mention I'm still experimenting with what setup to use for speed. But its all positive, once I feel fit and comfortatble with the sail I'll dig out the the old Wright Designs speed slalom board. I'm thinking tomorrow I'll just chill and go with a 5.0 or 5.4 wave sail. Speed sailing is hard work compared with mucking around in waves like I'm used to do.

A fun cruise around out the back with some of the usual suspects. Wind was better when I arrived, then slowly faded back to about 15knots over the next few hours. Could have been on the 98/7.0 after the first half hour, but wasn't worth changing. Nice to see a pod of dolphins with tiny baby dolphins swimming around up near Pengos. Really nice to just relax and cruise. Best 17-20knot day I've had in ages

Expected a nuclear day but only about 18-24 knots and never really feeling powered up. Still good gybe practise.

Nice to get out on the slime green carpet smooth. Its been so long i forgot how underwhelming the delta fin is but sooo thankful to have it to get through the thick stuff.
Great to catch up with the MMob, Anita and IanC.
Wind wasnt strong but was very cruisey out there.
Great day!

I had thought it would be a good day for speed but the wind had other ideas, so I rigged the M91 and a smaller sail than I used last week because the 6.2 was overpowered in the gybes.
My outing started badly, feeling really comfy and then getting catapulted on my first run when my fin unexpectedly hit the bottom. This made me very wary of gybing in the shallows.
I messed up the first couple of gybes and then started to feel really comfy again, so I thought I'd try going for an hour. Nice long runs across the bay, and surfing the swells across the boating channel was really fun. It was a pretty cruisy hour and I kept going for a bit longer to make sure I got a full hour in. I stayed out of the weed and I felt I was going a lot faster than 16 knots, but it is a top 4 hour for me, and my best of the year. My best distance of the year too.
The weed was thick and really slowed me down, when I ventured in, but it was lovely cruising the smooth.
It was lovely to see Lunny again, and the Mandurah Mob. I am happy to have made Fangy's day at least.
