Melville Beach

Another epic foiling breeze - WNW 10-30 knots, super-powered in the whiteouts with the 5m.

Good to see Stroppo up in the big smoke Cool

Decided to go for the bigger gear. Very gusty and squally but still good fun.

Glad Boz was happy to venture down to Herron pt again. We had an awesome time.

Decided on wrestling with the 137 today, some resonable bullets coming through. Had to settle her down a bit in the gusts which makes things exciting.

Similar to last time, not dead flat but great fun!

Great day and great company, huey played hi9s normal trick up and down and was evident with the board choices Lunny on the mega 135 Mistral and me on the tiny 54 Manta, great zipping up and down couldn't ask for a better day or company.

Probably didn't matter which sail was chosen today, because at some stage you'd be overdone, underdone and then undone, as was the case on my first run into a white out squall. Picked up and flipped like a burger. Always good to get a sail close to home. Also good to see Stroppo enjoying the smoothness of MelvilleLaughing. Nice to meet the Antman. Hope to see some numbers soon. You looked like you were nailing it out there. Highlight of the day was Kenny attempting a jump in close proximity to me, only for a good old fashion dunking.

Bump and jump session after the long speed session yesterday. Got a few jumps on both tacks today, even sent it in front of Tim. Went for a chop hop then back foot came out the strap so I bailed out and landed on my ass.Embarassed Good to see Stroppo at our local, also met Bunyip after a long while.

I arrived at Melville just as everyone was coming in saying they were overpowered, so I rigged small. That turned out to be a comfy combo until the wind shifted 45 degrees and dropped, leaving me way upwind with a small sail, struggling to get enough power to go down wind through moguls. It took me about 6 runs to get downwind enough to get back to the carpark, and it was a struggle most of the way. At least I had a floaty board.

Thanks to Tim and Ken for going back out to keep me company. It was good to catch up with Snides and Stroppo in the carpark. Stroppo said he needs an occasional sail at Melville to remind him why he doesn't sail there more often.

My fitness is still very poor. It took me 4 days to recover from the last session because I was sore. I guess it will be a struggle but if I can get some regular sailing in the fitness should improve from here.

Love your work, Boz and Lunny! Very handy set of numbers all round.

I wrote the August review last night with a bit of a pep talk for September about getting the hour in early in the month while there is wind - I guess I can delete that!
