Boggy Lake, SA, AU

Arrived around 11:30 and it was 20 - 25 Smallest sail is a 5.5 So put it on and flattened it out quite a bit. By the time I had finished rigging it had moderated a bit. Right choice in the end. Hadn't used the 5.5 for some time and it took some time to set the harness lines in the sweet spot. Once that was achived went over the other side to find some smoother water. Had to sail quite a bit away from the weed beds as there was a wind shadow and the wind kept on swinging so wasn't as smooth as hoping for.

Good start to the new year for me.

Came in for some food and drink ( should have eaten before I went out ) wind  then jumped up to 25 again so called it a day.

Only three others there as all the other pensioners are down at Lake George.  ( Cant wait to get there and sail in some flat water )

Boggy Lake, SA

Plenty of wind 20knots plus easy.

Thought I would try out my new black project weedfin,  went well less spin outs then my slalom fin :)  a lot of chop even up the top easy enough wind to go quicker just not enough balls.

Took along time to get to the top as soon as I got there the tendon on the mast base snapped, sailed it back to land headed back on foot for a replacement had fun jumping fences looking for snakes and running from goats to get back to the car,  I did see a decent sized snake skin.

Will give it another shot tomorrow,  tried changing a few settings on the sail at the end of these session feels a lot better.

Day one of the annual Lake George pilgramage, with Norm, Stotty , Evan, and Shane and Nicolle have come for a couple of days, PJ is expecting to put in a couple of guest appearances. Wind was SW 10-15, bit up and down, but nice to sail reasonably flat water. Rigged 6.5m Ezzy Cheetah on Exocet 58 but couldn't really get powered up, but a good sail to start with. These guys at BOM really have no idea, it's easy to get it right in hindsight but they keep changing it right up to the last minute and even then it's a lottery as to whether they get it right Looking forward to a good weeks sailing

Started out nicely powered so we decied hour while conditions were sweet, tick hour done then some KM to catch up to Hoppys hour head start. After watching Vikings I was glad I had my trusty FF22 sword  fin with me as I slayed a couple of hundered pagens razor fish during the hourLaughing

In for a drink & hoppy decided that some more KM were to be hadUndecided(all ready had a great session) so back out for some more punishiment or xmas pudding removalUndecided the last hour was realy bump & jump but wow what a start to 2019SurprisedCoolTongue out

SL2, GPS5.8, GPS6.6, 28 choco

Early start with the 5.8. Good fun across the bay for an hour or so.  Tricky got there and settled in for an hour. He was sailing well and was fasterCool

Came in for the 6.6 sail and returned and Tricky was still faster. We did some distance work late on the sloppy chop. It was a real grind but worth it for the team.

Feeling tired, will sleep good tonight.

Thanks for the beer buddyCool

Nice cruise around Lake George, bit disappointing actual wind was lighter than the forcast, used the 8.6 Turbo GT, 112 exfire, and 38 BPW and 7 mtr 112 exfire with 34BPW when it picked up slightly. Great to be back at the Lkae again with Nic back on the Board, Geoff, Stotti,Ev and co.

Thanks guys. Was going to go to LG with Geoff but family duties have got in the way but scored at the Bog anyway.

Top distances Hoppy and Tricky, they are about the return distance I travel to the Bog and home again Laughing

Well done on the PB Casey, wondered why you were stuck up the top end of the lake.

PJ, you would love this place. It is great for distance sailing.

SSE-SE when there is a .2 or.3 low tide in the middle of the day, you can cruise comfortably all day.

And glass spots appear for speed, if you go onto the shallow. Safe as,
