Whoohoo! Big squalls today. It ;asted pretty much all day but we quite at about 1.30pm, just as Tricky arrived.
I tried early on the 4.6m but was underpowered between squalls. Just as I swapped to the 5.2m, a massive squall hit and I was hunkered down at the launch spot at the wrong end of the speed run. Probably 40 knots. I could not get going without getting slammed. Kato was up the top of the course and just turned it when it hit so he was on a screamer. 'Right place at the right time'
I had a few really nice runs and decided to try for a NM. Right up to as clse as I could get the Packin Point with the water so low. I waited for what I thought was a squall coming (big black cloud) but my patience ran out and I went on a small gust . I had a 43 peak and 41 10 second in the run all the way down to the spit. I was hoping for a PB or close, but it turned out much slower. I few big lulls and dropped to 30 knots.
I needed two more 40 knot runs for a low 40 average but in the end I decided not to push my luck too long and came in.
Looks like we might get slightly more moderate conditions tomorrow.
Craig was on fire today. It's about time he got back to PB territory. Good sailing and good timing for the squalls.

A quick return to the Golden Lake on a very good but cOOOld forcast.
Finished work at 4.30,on the road by 5.30 and drove through the night in wind and rain to arrive at Lake George by 2am.
Slept at Packers as the main storm hit, lots of rain and wind. Daffy got me out into the cold at 7.50 for a run to the coffee shop.
On the water with lots of flat water, large weed burgs (Non sailable). Not much wind in the luls (20) but in the squalls 40. I managed to luck the top of the course at the start of one of the best squalls. Maxed out at the start, got it together in the middle, still trying to find a path through the weeds, hooked a nother extra gust at a bearaway point and hung on for the rush.
Still had the gps in Km so wasnt sure what 85 km = but i figured it was over 40. Not too bad for a person recovering from 5 smashed ribs
Kept chasing runs for a few more hrs till the body got a bit sore and called it a day. There is alway tomorrow for Part 2
