Inverloch, VIC, AU

It took 4 attempts to get wet today. Started out at 8am at The Pit with Ado. Not a lot of wind with the tide starting to turn (10/15kts) and just not speed sailing conditions......bloody cold tooWink. A quick check on the BOM and Invy had 15/20, so back we went. Invys 15/20 looked more like 10/20 so the motivation was very low and a coffee stop was called back at my place, Ado bailed out and did the long drive back to the smokey city. Did a surf check in the arvo.....crap and the wind had picked up again. Quick run home and grab the trailer and head for Invy for a play in the Inlet on the incoming tide.

Must have been on drugs or I should have, roughest runs down the Inlet I've seen in a long time. Very hard to find much flat water, large swell coming down the channels, wash off the rocks and wind swell from the other direction made it tough. Did some long runs to A45 in search of a better line, just found worse pyramids. Got a few nice jumps in though Laughing gave my knees a rest from the pounding.

Once again I'm impressed in the pounding that the CA can take without folding underneath me, thanks James Smile

The wind blew dogs off chains during the night! Surprised

7am and it was a steady 20 knots.

Went for Coffee and arrived back at around 9.30am with about half a doxen cars and people rigging. Wind now 20-25 knots on the shore, possibly more in the gusts out on the lake. Rigged 5.4m and 5.2m.

Went out at about midday on the 5.4m with JP54 (70L) slalom. Pretty nicely powered. A few lulls where I was marginal, and some gusts where I was FULLY lit. Too choppy to bearaway and push with full confidence in the big gusts so most were a bit half hearted. Embarassed

Sailed for about 2 hrs and has had enough. It is quite tiring being on the edge all the time and not being able to relax. Hats off the the local who have it wired and went all day! Cool

I wore my 4/3mm wettie today and was glad of it. Laughing But it was still a LOT milder than down south!

Great day with a great bunch of enthusiastic windsurfers!

JP54 slalom, 2017 KA Koncept 5.4m. Lessacher 20cm Bull Duo Rake 40.
