Great session on W52 5.8Rss and 26 weedy.

thanks guys, I know it is not a really fast alpha for many people but breaking 22 has taken a long time for me.

Today the wind was not great but as the tide fell one area became really flat. Flatter than I have ever seen alphaland on the peel inlet.

Stroppo the harbour is a spectacular spot as you say, the  wind today was north easterly and there were several reallly flat areas, unfortunately the wind was a bit up and down. Looks like it may have been the pick for WA todayCool

12 out of my top 5s have come in the first 3 months of the year. Not bad after 9000kmsSmile

Thanks everyone. The water was the flattest I have yet seen anywhere for the whole of the alpha. I believe a good gyber could set some cracking times thereLaughing wind slightly gusty but it has excellent potential. optimum wind is ENE or NE with tide around .5 to .7 m

Johno: the big difference for me was mirror flat water.

Lao: my 23 was on my W52. Given the wind I know I could go better on the 45, however I need a good weedy to go with it. The slingshot I have been using with it is excellent but tends to hold onto long strands of seagrass.

Decrepit: 5 windsurfers out, 3 doing freestyle tricks, my friend Garry was out on his Ka Kayote and Fanatic Hawk (which it turned out has a delaminated bottom) with a very flexible freeride fin. I leant him a GPS and without trying he did 30.5 kts and a 22.3 alpha. Had he gone for it in the flat water his gybes would have been far quicker. I am working onn signing him up! There is another quick sailor here(Cliff) , he was away this weekend but I spoke to him about joining also, he has a Garmin which he has used.. I think one or both will do so. Cliff had a brief go on my 45 last weekedn and was really impressed, I think he will buy a speed board shortly to make the most of the winter frontsCool

I am still grinning from ear to ear and back again about that 23 :-) and will be for a while.
