Glory Holes, Australind, WA, AU Futura 101, Carbon Art SP50, NP RS Slalom MK III 7.0, 30cm Maui Ultra Weedy

Went for my first go on Benders Run today and was joined by a few, wind was up and down and swung NW then back to the West later

Had a great time, first properly powered session in a looong time, pretty stoked that I managed quite a few good gybes just ran out of patience every time I tried climbing up to do a NM run.

Last Session for a few months as work is taking me away and last session on my beloved Futura 101 and 7.0M they will  be replaced with new shiny stuff when I come back

JP Slalom VI 65, Gaastra Vapor 7.1m, JP slalom 36cm, jp Weed 36cm

Got up this morning to hear it persitantly raining, the plan was to head out at 9, things went to plan and I headed out on timeSurprised flagged Boombas as we had a negative storm surge so I resigned myself to sailing cobblers, turned up down there and it was still raining yet didn't look inspiring, Decrep turned up (Good to see him healthy again) and he wasn't inspired either.

Forlorn I called up the Bendyman but he was having trouble turning the streering and talking on the phone he was that excited when we told him about the low tides, his excitement may have got ther better of him as his phone unexpectedly hung up after he let out a "happy" groanWink .

Fortunately for me Decrep's excitement got me of my freckle to contemplate the drive down, after a persistanly wet drive finally got down to find Bender and Dannsy loitering around the toilet block, I got to admit Benderland looked pretty damn fine even with more Nth than west blowing.

Figured the best way to rig in the persistant rain was to get into the rubber first (good move that one) second time out with the vapor used what I learned last time and put some more down haul on and went out with the pointer on.

Right from the get go, it was woo hooCool no pumping and some nice squirts, I found that the southern run was quite nice and as I'm a lazy fecker tacking up wind with Bendyman was a waste of energy, besides I was having a ball, the pointer was making it interesting picking up weed where the bottom was a bit closer to the air side, eventually after a scarey elmo-momment I decidedd that the pointer just wasn't worth the increased destruction of my good looks. so back to shore for El Trusty weedy.

Back on the water, instant results weedy was a lot more stable Woo hooCoolCool also the wind was starting to swing bringing a bit more west into the equationCool. Got some more nice runs in, however my back was starting to sieze up so fiured I'd flag it, so started sailing back, on the way back found that the wind had swung engough so I could get my fat arse up the northern end with out tacking like a mad (fit) bastard.

Eeventually got up there and waited for a goodish gust to come in finally one came after a long 4min wait and I took of, about of a 1/3rd of the way into the naughty I hit the bottom and cavitated the fin it was then that i realised that I had burnt out the strength in my front arm and I could hold onto the boom, as you can imagine this didn't end well with me hanging under the boom by one arm with a cavitating fin.

After I surfaced I went back to redeem myself, this time I managed the whole run, however when I gybed, I once again didn't have the strength to hang onto the boom so once again I went down. Definately time to flag the session.

When I got back to the car the best squall of the day came in whgich Benderman and Dannsy made full use of with PD getting 39.96 on the dial, Noel had his gauge out and recorded 30knots at the squals peak.

Macka Packa  was rigging when I got back muttering about rubbing his love spuds on the cheese graterLaughing

On thing I learned today was, when you are in a squall and the sail doesn't want to play the game when you get going, DON'T yell abuse as you go down, DON'T inhale as you hit the water, a lung full of water is not easy to get ridd off when out in the chop.

It was a whole lot of fun today and I'm incredibly thankfull for Decrep and Benders enthusiasm which got my freckle into gear, great session sailing with PD, JJ, Adam, Bendyman, Decrep and Notty.

Awesome spot, Awesome funCoolCoolCoolCoolCoolCool

Tide too low to try the weedbank buster at snake bites, had fun at Bendyland instead. Used the avi 6.0 all day, with the 53 and 23,5 35deg fin to start with, then changed to the 48 with the new 19.5 47deg woody weedy. Must have left the trailing edge a bit thick, it really howls going down wind.

Got a 33.29 on the dial first run, so a bit disappointed to only get 32.8 2sec. Tried some alphas, but the wind let me down on the way out, even when I managed to stay on the plane I had to pump coming out of them. Couldn't get a NM run, kept running into lulls.

As Alby says the flat section to the South was a lot of fun, nice to enjoy this place with the aforementioned crew

Long day and not much sailing but had some laughs. if you had to be sitting around cold in the rain, it may as well be in good company!!Cool Good to get wet before a possible 5 weeks out of the water due to doctors ordersSmile.

Glory Holes NW then westery 18-25knts

XFire 102, SX xs , Reflex3 7.0m, various fins that got smaller at as the tide dropped and it got flatter and shallower

Great to see some visitors at my local. Really enjoyble day. had the 5.0m rigged with the CA40 ready and waitying but it never really got that windy. The 7.0m was spot on all day apart for a couple of exciting moments in some decent 25knt plus bullets. With no tide surge today it was nice and flat so good speeds were had by all. I felt off the pace today, No matter what i tried i could't break 36knts. All good. i'm on holidays for the next two weeks. Bring on more frontsLaughing
