JP SS 125L, NP RSR E7 7.0m, JP 44cm

Fun sail after lacking the testicular fortitude to sail yesterday.

Wind was a bit up and down round and round, some times chugging others hanging on with a bit of brown sliding down.

First run was on of the latter, over powered, went for the first gybe and had the sail blown out of my hands which resulted in me falling back with my feet still stuck in the straps and a very sudden stop with my backand smashing my head (for the second time in two sessions) ouch.

Second outing on the supersport first one powered up and well happy.

Water was F'ken freezing, got two dents in the top of my head from the first dunking.

Fun time, good sailing with Gavin

Harding Rd, Albany, WA, AU

KA Koncept 5.8,  Sonic 56w, Delta 19

Quick try of Harding Rd in a WSW/SW wind. Took me about 30 seconds to work out I had way too much sail up in the gusts, wind was very shifty as well. Nearly went straight back in but had a few little runs at the shallow end as the tide was fairly low (summer levels) so it was actually quite flat but never really got comfortable. Did get hooked up in a weed berg & chucked over the front even with the delta. Temporary patch on the sail proved to be just that, so headed in before blowing the sail right out.

Not a top 10 day but a learning experience & got to catch up with Shane for a bit of a chat & found out that he is only a few weeks away from being able to sail again which is great news Smile

Exmouth, WA, AU.  Arrived in town at lunchtime today with a SEly blowing. Had to decide whether it was going to swing to the SW or not. Flipped a coin and headed off to Sandy Bays - thats what I wanted to do anyway. Got there and its still blowing SEly. Went out anyway, there were some good gusts, but mostly holes.  Still, my first time here so I didnt care, what a beautiful spot! magic!!

Ive been watching the forecast on SB and its been wall to wall green arrows the last few weeks. Yep, they've dried up - looks like you were right Fangy. Should start blowing in a weeks time when I head home Frown. Anyhow, its supposed to be a family holiday - snorkling will be fun Smile.

First sail of the season back at my home spot of Fangy's. Was windy all day, but died off just about when I managed to get away for a quick sail. On the water at 5PM. Still, had a really nice sail even though I spent a lot of the time in displacement mode and compared to yesterday, I did tripple the distance in a third of the time on a board double the size.   Got a few nice gusts and did some planing, even a couple decent gybes. Loving the new F2.

Slugger after all that rigging up for the young fellas you still found time to go out and pick yourself up an Alpha JB well done Smile

Fangy I'm hoping the Sail Santa will make an early appearance this year so I won't have  to use the 5.8 much. Will get some proper sail tape to try & hold it together in the meantime...

Just come back from Dr, he's given me the all clear, no broken bones no torn ligaments. Recommends not favouring the shoulder, act as normal and has given me a precription for powerfull anti-inflamatories and pain killers to cope with any pain. So looks like I can get straight back on the water, but it won't be in storm conditions!

Mike, I would recommend seeing a physio for your shoulder, and sooner rather than later. After an injury muscles can tighten up which prevent normal movement (even if you are unware of it) and this can create impingements and bursitis. Remember seeing me with my arm in a sling a few years back? That was from an injury I don't even remember getting. I found physio worked better than anti-inflammatories and cortisone injections, because without correcting the muscle imbalance the inflammation keeps getting stirred up. Now I know how to loosen those muscles myself, but I was not even aware they were tight until I saw the physio. I also learnt that if you get treatment quickly it resolves quickly. Once it becomes chronic it takes a lot of treatment to shift it.

Hey Max of the madness!! 4 PBs, great stuff, keep them coming, you'll be beating your old man in no time.

Thanks Anita, tomorrow I'll be seeing the physio who takes our oldies keep fit session, I'll have a word with her.

Nice work Mad Max.....go get 'em!! Great PB's.

Capt'n, Windex knows what she is talking about when it comes to an injured seadog like you so +1 that physio advice if in doubt. If your nose is shiny and moist and your beard nice and glossy then you'll know everything is coming good. Just don't tell her if you're running a temperature.Surprised

You're not lacking in testicular fortitude Elmo but are you bolting the big shiny ones on correctly? I'm glad that your helmet absorbed the impact though...masts are expensive. Tracey will be getting concerned you'll k'nacker yourself.

Decrepit make sure you don't stay on anti imflammatories too long unless you are taking pills to protect your stomach. I almost died of a stomach bleed staying on mine 3 months..Undecided

Thanks for the advice, but I ditched them after the first day Sue.

Both pain killers (Prodeine Forte) and the anti inflammatories (Proxen SR 1000) have listed side effects of nausea dizzyness and drowsiness. And tell you not to drive if you experience any of them!

I had all 3 in abundance!

So I stopped the Prodein first, which improved things, but not enough, so then I dropped the Proxen. Still went to the gym and the exercise group, and only took it a little easy on my shoulder. I found it better to put up with a bit of pain than the side effects.

Had a brief sail today, downhauling the last cm gave me a bit of a twinge, and sailing over chop wasn't totally comfortable, but it was good to get out.
