Liptons Frontal gusty ssw to s wind, fairly strong at times, but high tide and very choppy.  Sailed over to Point Grey for flatter water, and yes much flatter water but lighter wind and even more gusty with a wind shaow.  Highest speeds there were in the 35's.  Didnt wanna get smashed so rigged my smallest TR, and had an easy peasy pleasant sail.  Mistral Speed 95  TRX 5.5m  Pepeweed 22/48

Liptons, 110 isonic, 6.4 North Duke (freestyle :) 32 weedy.

Wowzers what a mixed session started by failing to rig a new to me race sail so chucked on the old faithful north duke. headed out with completly the wrong fin attached so headed in for a quick switch and then the fun started. Got to say I was so impressed by the level of sailing on show today and i learnt just as much by watching others as i did by giving it a go. Beat my PB by about 3 knots in amonst some spectacular crashes and a whole lot of fun. Finished off by snapping my boom however not too hard to turn it upside down and head in with 1 arm.

Halls Head, Blue Bay WA, AU

As my child bride always says, I peak too early Wink

Everyone was heading to Liptons but I had the need for deep blue goodness so headed to Blue Bay. Standing on beach I was getting 20+ knots, woohoo so I rigged my 5.8. Drifted out to wind line and away I go, wtf a little under powered but loving the water, so blue clean and nice swell lines, got a couple of nice spurts down through the swell but it didn't take long and it was on/off/on/off the plane, wobbled back and did the walk of shame, woe is me. Of course while de rigging wind picked up but I was too worried to try again on my pat malone, tail between legs I buggered off. Shame really and goes to show how smart I am, I have to say Blue Bay today was the ducks nuts, I just peaked too early and didn't have another one in me WinkLaughing

Went to Liptons hoping to catch John and have a beer with da boys but sheet it was cold on the inlet, took a few photos (post later), said some hi n goodbyes and bolted back to the house on wheels.

I had high teens on the dial and things were looking really nice at Fangyland today. That is until the Stretchy’s number one operative, Agent Slug, called on the shoe phone that he was on his way. To add insult to injury, he brought a convoy with him. And so we had Spinal Tap with the volume turned up to 11 for the afternoon.

The most Spinal, Pepe went for a sail that was just way too happily coloured, while the drummer Shane, rather rapidly lost his ability to converse throughout the afternoon. In fact, by the end, he sounded a bit like the Great Ape’s enclosure at the Zoo. Lots of wild and excited hollering and yelps, that no one could understand, but the intent was pretty clear. Shane had a really good day.

That left agent Slug. The man continues to be the epitome of poor form.

One - turns up with guests without letting the host know. Always awkward.

Two - continues to sing some totally lame but catchy chorus from a song from the 70’s. The result is you end up singing a shitty song to yourself for the rest of the arvo.

Three - lobs at end of my trailer to pilfer a FangyFinMkII before I had a chance to recover from his band mates.

Four - unfailingly has a good time, with a tendency to use my kit better than I do and sails himself into PB territory as well.

The Spinal Tap boys then played around with the amp, and blew it up. Just as I was enjoying myself on the old Screamer. Rapidly getting tired of the sinking thing, I came in and organised crew to get the Party Barge in the water. Those bantam weights in the band were flying, and at least I wasn't sinking anymore.

I had the Koncept 6.6 and FangyFinMkII 24 in the Barge and the sun began to brighten. In fact, it appears the band had reformed the amp as well because, with each run, the Barge was getting close to maximum velocity. By now the breeze was up 'excellent' volume, with the occasional gust giving a little more oomph.

Back to change onto the ol’ Missy Screamer and swapped over the FF24 and 6.6 sail as well. Pretty soon I was sounding like Shane. Going fast downhill over small chop, is both scary, exhilarating and feels like you are breaking the sound barrier. I continue to be completely stoked with the performance of the fin. Both Slugger and Pepe have confirmed the vertical lift component, which makes it less likely I am imagining it. I found that not only am I confident the fin is not ever going to let go, but the lift levels out the board and lessens the chop impact. I don't quite glide across, but it’s nowhere near as bumpy as I recall on the Delta.  Looking at the numbers, top speed was on the old girl and the alpha was on the Barge. And I am well happy, given it was all done in varying levels of chop.

Eventually, my calves started to cramp and I had to call it a day. The downside of pushing so hard against the fin going uphill I guess. But be in absolutely no doubt, the boys in the Band, and me, all had a Top ten Fangy Day LaughingLaughing

This week I once again spat the dummy over life's little nuisances. This time it was an online scammer by the name of Bryan who copped it. I have had my yacht on the market for a while now and had more than my fair share of tyre kickers, time wasters and scammers. To be fair, this poor fellow was actually really good and had done some preparatory groundwork. But occasionally for someone like me, there are days when  I like to mess with their heads ( I will have to remember to tell you about Dr Fayid who I managed to convince to sign a document in which he promised to stop interfering with goats before I would consider helping smuggle his money out of Syria).

I digress, back to Bryan. I managed to keep Bryan on the hook for about a dozen emails. He eventually even sent me a photo of his driver's license. I gave him a lecture about Internet security in return. Of course, it was a stolen licence, but I was surprised at how organised he was and that in turn, he was going to do an identity check on me to satisfy himself that I was kosher. In any case, he started to get a bit impatient and I so I asked him about his very dodgy email header file (this is a bit of info included in your email and normally hidden from view that has all details about  the email, including the real email address) Although I was gratified that his final offer would be, that I could pay a reduced amount for the freight in advance for my boat to be shipped to him( yes you read that right), I wasn't happy, and pushed for a set of steak knives as well. He didn't reply. I was hurt. No, in fact, I was really hurt.

So I let him know that I felt he was nasty and he should disconnect from the Internet by that evening or I would do it for him. He didn't reply again. So I hacked him. Because, unfortunately for Bryan, he didn't bother with Microsoft security updates. I won't spell out the details, suffice to say, I downloaded the calculator program from his computer, modified it a bit and put it back into his computer. Then I emailed Bryan to let him know that when he opened one of the apps on his computer, not telling which one, it would function normally for a while but then crash. The reason being that he would have triggered the forced re-format of his entire hard drive...

I still haven't heard from him. People are so rude these days.

Oh and people, please install your updates, you never know when a fruitcake might just want to mess with your head :-)

  Peel in,  WA AU

Fun at liptons,...      Got in the watter and flipped the sail arownd but the cams didnt ,  so back on land to fix things.

Eventually I was on my way,...  and the fangy fin was going well, upwind and down, but with the lumpy goodnes

under foot and the fin lifting the board, things got a bit unstable at speed,...  so a lightweight like me got thrown off,.. hah.

So I went and got a slimmer and lighter fin to play with,...  in control and a lot more fun, but time was running out

so i headed home.     Had the 46 board, with code red 4.6 sail, and FangyFin, then the other 21cm YO45 weedy.

                     Laughing                 Cool

Arrived at Liptons to see Otts on the water, Sammy launching and Ratz about to launch. Wind was only just hitting 20kts in the gusts, so went with the 5.8 on the 43 with the 20cm 40/55deg fin. Had a few runs between litptons and Pt Grey, was getting 30 to 31 at Pt grey and 31 to 32 at liptons with better 10s results also at liptons, So made up my mind to stay at liptons, on the way over I saw Sammy heading back in. Then the wind picked up and I got a 34kt run, then a 35 and after a while a 36. Johnski came out and proceded to try out the crash friendliness of the whole area.

Not sure if he came to a conclusion but a boom paid the price.

Ratz really surprised me by hanging on to his 7.8 when I was struggling with the 5.8 in the gusts.

Pas tried yoyo's 4.6 and fangy's huge fillet fin at the same time!!!!!!!!!!!! Very interesting to watch, I hope Firie has some pics.

Hardy and Elmo seemed to be going well, salty thingos was frequently on the edge, the big question in my mind is how Stroppo went after ariving a bit late after work.

Here's the watch results with underhand grip on the fastest runs

2s 36.076, 5x10 34.112, 1hr 15.675, alpha 19.315, NM 27.933, dist 45.38
