Shane & I convinced ourselves that there would be enough wind, Huey did not agree. Huey was correct
I swear it picked up just after we were both ashore

1937 days ago 2 categories Another fun medium wind day At Fangys, tide a taf low but quite sailable.
Had Fangy, Remery and Bono for company along with a few kiters.
I initially tried for an hour, but ran into some chop combined with a lull in a couple of gybes, and stuffed them, so when Fangy was waiting in the water in front of me, I did the sociable thing and stopped for a chat, probably shouldn't have done, looking at the display, I was on track for a 20 if I'd sailed for another 15 minutes.
GPSResults gives me a 19.84, 47min so probably woulsn't quite have made 20.
Shortly after that I broke a harness line, so went for NM on the way home. Winf died about half way through and I was down to 5kts for most of the way back. That perduaded me not to bother going back out, so I called it quits hoping the other guys wouldn't have to walk back.

Great sail, best for awhile for sure, just zipping down between the chop lines grinning, fun fun fun

Vintage Windtech KaR 7.1 FF22.
I had a brain fart and went for the Windtech when I really should have been on the old Missy Flow. I was badly under boarded all day, but on the odd occasion I got it unstuck from the estuary weed and mud, the board scooted along happily enough, but most of the time it was just hard slog.
Good things: fun little blips downhill in the sun and warmth. And almost kept up with Stretchy over a Liptons!
Bad things; let's face it, I was out sailing so there can't be anything worth posting about.
Top Ten Fangy Day of slogging (and on a very nerdy note, I am loving Mike's work on the getting Linux Mint and virtual coms port on GW52 chatting happily)
A bit more breeze tomorrow would be nice tho

I will post later as theres more to this story but loving the new board and its exactly as i was hoping
So I’m the latest Mobber to smash myself up :( I’m now sporting a black eye and a grazed nose having hit my forehead (covered by my helmet) into the boom at 30knts. I had been doing a few speed runs and as I change direction to head up wind I pull on my outhaul to get upwind better. As I had one hand on the boom and another on the outhaul I hit what I assume to be a ray as it was in knee deep water so unlikely to be a rock etc. with only 1 hand on the boom I had no way to balance myself as I went ass up and the helmet hit the boom pushing it down along my nose and into my eye. Only superficial damage and I’m sure my good looks are still intact.
I bought the 110 Patrik hoping it would be a beefed up 92ltr and was not disappointed it gybes brilliantly and will be a real medium wind weapon for alphas and hours. It’s only 68 wide compared to the 75 wide 110 Isonic that’s its replacing and will almost certainly be a more enjoyable ride when I take it out in the chop also.
