Cool and windy with high tide which covered the weedy goodness that has been normal for Fangies. Waves towering 20cm tall disrupted our usually tranquill waters. NOT GOOD ENOUGH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I will speak to the green keeper.Hollidays for the greenkeeper are herewith banned until our accustomed smooooooth is restored.

Liptons, that was a lot of fun, first went out and wind was reasonable, doing peak runs in the mid 35's, thought I'd try point Grey and best I could manage was mid 34's (PS. I give Point Grey the All Clear to sail, now.) Sailed back to Liptons wind dropped out runs in the mid 33's mid 32's.  Then the wind picked up late in the session and stayed out for another hour when I was really buggered, but got my best speeds with runs in the 37's, 36's and high 35's.  Love doing the high speed gybes at the end of speed runs, probably my favourite feeling in windsurfing, much better than Alphas.

Gear Mistral Speed 55/95 TR16 6.3m (Rotating better thanx Elmo), and Pepeweed 22/48, wished I had the pepefoil 21/48 when the wind picked up, but was too light when I rigged.

At Fangys S bend, with lots of crew, nicely powered for a change. Wind apart from being a bit gusty, was close to the forecast.

Went with 53, 6.2 and 20cm@55.

Tide was up so outer weed banks were under water, but the inside runs became available, nice and smooth in there Basil. My best NM was through there, but I didn't start high enough, the run was a bit short.

Fangyland with a mob. Good fun mucking around. Post more laterLaughing

Well, that was a good start to the year. Lunchtime and I was on the plot to survey the damage done by Pesky vandals while I took time to keep myself in the In-Laws Will over Xmas. In a similar vein to Boz’s destruction of the outer weed bank in December 2017, by crikey, they did some damage. The weed wasn’t even visible until the tide dropped. Unbelievable.

Once I had regained composure and dodged Swindy’s new Teletubby van, it was rigging decision time. The breeze was dropping and I knew Captain Calm was on his way. I chucked in the Barge, FF24 and KaR7.1 and had the place to myself while Swindy merrily set about destroying his own kit in the rigging area.

The tide was up more than has been the case of late. The breeze was WSW and served up some funky SW bullets. The end result was I had some good fun low thirties runs on the Barge. The breeze settled and swung to a steady SW.  Time to break out the Missy Flow and FF22 with an experimental  modified fillet.

The fillet was reduced in the middle and back third. Overall, it wasn’t a success. The fin lost its ability to resist spin out when empowered in the chop and although it was slippery enough, it was like sailing a Delta again. Back to the drawing board.

Swindy eventually arrived on scene with a spinnaker for a sail. Basil beat Fin to the draw and hit the water first. That was enough for Fin to call it quits and concede victory today to Basil. A couple of Peskies arrived in the shape of Emery and Windxtasy, but they were nullified by more Mobbers aka Cap’n Calm, Stretch and ‘Ken.

The only downside, was leaving my Nauti run well short. Doh!

All in all, a good fun session with a good crew to start 2019. In fact, it was probably a Top Ten Fangy Day for 2019.Laughing

JP Speed 54, NP RSR E7 7.0m, Pepe weed 23.5cm

Best session ever, right up until the last run where I bulleyed a stingray the size and density of Tasmania.

But other than that throughly enjoyed my second hit out on the speed 54 although it was a case of right place right time today withnwherever the gusts came through.

Great fun sailing with Hardz especialy when all the gusts alligned he came screaming down the run and laid it into a super sweet gybe, the "WOO HOO" which followed was nusic to my ears as I had let out a similar cry about 10mins earlier.

Was stoked with the session as I got 3 planing gybes at speed in a row.

My last run, I sailed from the corner across to Point Grey, made the gybe there, sailed back across no probs at all, was going to carryu on working back upwind to the carpark but an nice gust loomed up in front, so I just had to send it, unfortunately jusrt got it up to 30, sail fully loaded when I spotted the big black shape of my immenant destruction about 2 board lengths, by the time I recognised what it was I was already in the destruction process of hooked in bitch whipping, collected the boom and mast on way through.

Fortunately no damage apart from bruised ribs, Bugger.

Almost the best session ever.

Got out of work early so arrived in Cevantes in time for a sail. My first time out here so took it easy but im now very aware im going to find it hard going over the next couple of days. no catapults and I can make my gybes is a positive but no idea how im going to find some speed in the washing machine chop and an hour is going to be next level punishment.

Some fun at Fangland.  Nice and windy and sunny, breeze was a little cool but I was plenty warm in the sun, despite forgetting the wetty at home.   Good fun running along the outside of the weed.  Was taking it a bit easy today just to get back in the swing of things and was way to chicken to venture into the weed patches. Even the rays in the areas I was going gave me a few 'clenchy' moments but in the end only tapped one very lightly during a jibe.   Feeling nice and tired and just happy to have got some TOW.

Good to catch up with a sizeable chunk of the crew today and Anita. One of the crew is far more sizeable than last time I saw him, to much good living over xmas.

Bit of a disaster with the 7m today which would have been my prefered sail  but just glad it happened today and not at Cerventes. Overdone on the big kit and the other kit was just perfect on my way up wind but once out there it seemed to back off a bit so called it to save energy.

Believe me, that was really flat compared to what I have become used to lately.

And the wind was so consistent - relatively
