What's the world coming to????  Sailed Fangy's (thats wierd in itself) I enjoyed myself (now I'm taking the piss) but with a 42cm fin???? WTF????

Yep, you read right and to cap it of I got my self a couple of PB's for the big girl (and her big sisters).

Was having some fun this arvy with Johnski, Jake (congrats on the PB) Shane and Stropp, the big girl was a pleasure to ride and the right board choice, unfortunately the headache I drove down with kicked in the afterburners when I was sailing and it was seriously distracting me from focasing on sailing when the wind picked up.

The rest of the crew finally got their groove on when I got of the watr as the wind had filled in nicely,.

A nice way to finish of the weekend.

Whilst putting on my wetsuit I realised the whole in the crutch area has now got to a size whereby I might offend some birdwatchers so appologies all round for the sight of me sailing with boardshorts over my wetsuit but I promise it was a better choice than the alternative. Great day on the water with the hardcore locals.

I got caught out by the wind dropping off after I had rigged. I had a solid 17 knots on the gauge when I rigged, but when I hit the water there weren't too many whitecaps left. I was on Pacey’s SB72, KaRace 7.1 and FF24. The board and fin combo was great fun. The 7.1 was too small for the majority of the time, but compared to Saturday it was almost cruisey. When I say cruisey, do imagine I meant warm as I have obviously got soft, sailing at this time of year without booties is just not fun after an hour or so.

Anyone who has believed me when I said there is not much weed out there, may want to reassess. I told Pacey that a normal weedy would be fine. Pacey then discovered that there are quite a few bergs and weed issues. I still did not notice any, so best not to take advice from me. (To be fair, I did have an FF24 so I may have run over a few and not noticed)

With just the two of us out there on such a big stretch of water, it was easy to lose sight of each and in the end, we both spent some time unsuccessfully looking for each other. A good spot for using the Motion emergency beacon methinks.

Absolutely loving Peter's GPS Speedreader export to KML facility - makes it so easy to do the crayon drawings Laughing

Yes I agree with you about the weed Fangy!

Although I somehow managed to run the gauntlet with my gargantuan fin, Stroppo with a much smaller fin and an extremely high tide went over the front TWICE making Stroppo sized Elmo style dents in the water.

I imagine when the tides return to normal things will thicken up greatly.
