Yunbas run with Crimson Splash added for extra brown pants colour

Quick pre-frontal charge around in the chop with Dan until I couldn't hold on to the sail any longer.

Party Barge 310, KaRace 7.1 FF24

I got to South Yunderup to see Dan already out near the spoil island. The breeze was still WNW and hadn’t really arrived, but I went for something on the small side of things expecting the situation to change. And it did. I got on the water to join Dan,  hooked up and went charging off down toward Boombas. Not much later, I was a fair way from where I started and my arms were already cooked, very wide-eyed and at max pulse rate. That being down to a hairy downwind overpowered charge on the Barge. I stopped to de-power everything and with my tail between my legs headed back up to Yunderup and try and find where Dan had got to…Turns out he was doing the same thing in the opposite direction. So much for keeping an eye on each other!

Once back up near base, I decided to have a play around close to home so to ensure I had an easy escape when things got too wild. I had a few runs in the small chop but pretty soon the wind was just too strong. I watched Dan have a sphincter run in, and kudos to him, he went out to have another crack. The end result, a good-sized dent in the estuary.

A challenging day on the big ol’ Barge but good times enough to call it a Top Ten Fangy Day.

  Coodanup, at fangys,,  WA, AU.

Not the best day for me, but was determind to get on the water. Its been over two months, I think???. May b more.

Had troubles geting the setup right for the wind, and gave it up after a stack over the front.

   48/45 board, Ka R 5.5, 23/45 weedy.

For a guy who's only had 6 sails since February that was great! But if I'd had my belly full of sails lately I'd be whinging.

Usual story wind strong as forecast while rigging, but dropped off once I hit the flat stuff. Then came back whith a vengance after everybody ran out of light and came back to base. I saw Johnski get one hell run downwind in the chop.

Here's the GE tracks, from GPSspeedreader.

Great result Jake, I'm going to have to watch my back! And you have 2 jelly beans. An alpha on that little board is good going. As I said, on these small boards, keep you weight further forward going into the gybe, it's very easy to sink that narrow tail.
