Port Douglas, QLD, AU Finally the wind came back.  Ed and Simmy and I had a solid afternoon playing the water.  July was such a right off for us, dominated with fluky South South Easterlies - so this was a real bonus.  Ed went down earlier to check the breeze and told me to bring my big rig and my 7.2.  Then he went home and the wind had kicked up another five knots.  He texted me to bring my new Severne Turbo GT 6.5, but I was already at Mossman.  When I arrived he was about to go out on his clapped out 6.6m = he was concerned about how long I'd be out on my new Hornet twin cam 7.2.  We put downhaul on it and flattened it out and off we went.  I was right on the limit but pretty comfortable out there - the breeze was thick and strong - Ed reckons it was a solid 25knots out the back.  The sun was out = Simmy hadn't sailed for a long time but says she is now getting her priorities right.  She had pulled out her old harness and it let go on her in the first ten minutes - so off she went round the corner to get her husbands.  She was overpowered and lacking condition like me.  Sailed for maybe a couple of hours until the shins started to cramp.  Ed was impressed that I'd lasted that long, considering the sail.  The Wind Gods are among us again.  Hoping to do the same tomorrow and Friday if anyone comes up.  Ed is looking to see if anyone is up for a GI trip as the wind and the tides look really good.  I hope the rest of you were allowed out to Play.

Port Douglas, QLD, AU Quick sail after work with Simi and Andrew..Rigged burnt out 6.6m S type North on 97 lt Isonic and 38 cm fin,Had a good blast for about half hr in a solid 20kts, wind was building the whole time.. Had to go back to beach for a retune which was wasting precious time..had to do a fin change to 36cm  pull top cam out of sail and go in to full crank down mode, with mast moved back This made 97lt Iso a sweet high wind 'chop hopper' in a solid 25kts and a rough sea...Had a fully pumped session till dark which was heaps of fun , But it was to rough to lite it up down wind...Dropped a couple of gybes out the back which annoyed me a bit..hate it when board is doing' back flips' in the waves when doing water starts...Simi had a good session but she had a harness blow out, but managed to fleece one from some one and get back on the water...She went home totaly shagged..Have to give Andrew 'man of the match' for hanging on to an angry 7.2m' Hell Cat' in a very stiff breeze,i was surprised he did it..He sailed well and learnt a lot..Good one mate..Today was the best wind we have had up here all year..It would be cool if anyone doing a' GI 'run on Saturday could let me know,as the boys up north are keen for a run...Cheers ED..

Green Island .Day off in the middle of the week -nice !! Used Cam's Manta 98 NP Lt1 7m2 & tribal SW 31.

Rusty as anything -kiting has messed with my gybing-kept falling in at the turns .Beautiful day & took some nice shots so might upload later .

Had some nice long blasts out wide -rough but exhilarating ...

Green Island, QLD, AU Great morning session on the Island with Lach & Scottish lass Kayleigh .Solid 18-20 knots but heaps of East in the wind so super chopped up reef flats .

Used the 2017 iso 107 Warp 7.7 Tribal SW 33.
