Stanley, TAS, AU,Took the speed board out in the first channel with Baz for a run in a stronger than forecast Easterly.

A low high tide and a highish low tide made for a longer than usual sail as the water didn't disappear as fast today.

Had a short sail on the 90 in the third channel but it was pretty rough.

iSonic 107 | MACH2 7.0 | Tribal WS 33 and iSonic W49 | MACH2 6.2 | Tectonic SD 17

Rigged the 7.0 on the 107, but the wind picked up probably 10 knots before I hit the water.  Wasn't sure whether to continue on that gear for an hour, but Kaleb was blasting back and forth, so I did.  Very hard work with 30 gybes in 1hr = 1 every 2 minutes!

After the 1hr swapped to the 6.2 and the W49 with a small Speed Demon fin to make the most of the shallow areas!  Got one good run before spinning out in chop and getting flung over the front, going from 30+ to a 0.0 knot stop within 0.6 seconds!  One of the worst crashes I've had, but everything survived except my harvess hook.  Called it a day after that.

All in all a great day with heaps of other sailors out, just a bit stiff and sore now!

Was in the middle of going for a 1 hr when I couldn't stand watching Dave & Kaleb doing their speed runs in all that wind so had to join them. Great sail with the crew.

Dorans, IS107 R3 7.8 DW38. Sweet conditions for the first half an hour. Went for a cruisy 1h but the wind was pretty on and off and at the end and was fighting to stay on the plane....even had a swim...first one in about a 20 sails! Good fun!

Wished I had have kept going on the 1 hr now, would have got a PB by the looks of it! 1 hrs are a big test on the patience as well😝 Didn’t know you were on the speed board Dave, thought it was your 87!

Well done of the 1hr Karen.  You were flying.  We needed a bit more water as the runs were so short.

Yep, changed down to the W49 with a 17cm Speed Demon fin (testing gear for Lake George).  Fin was fantastic, but that combo is not really the right gear for Marion Bay chop and when something goes wrong it goes wrong quickly - which is why we don't use speed boards there!  However, that sea-grass is starting to expand across a larger area now, so the area of flat water in near the car park is getting bigger!!
