F111, OD 8.5 & CF 38 - Watched Borgy out on his 8.5 for a while..... Ok for ages, I was in complete denial, I'm not rigging bigger than a 7, the wind is going to fill in!! Yell Glenno headed home, then finally I conceided defeat and rigged the biggest gear I had in the car. Yell Not too bad of a sail considering, but it wasn't long before it swung and dropped right out. Almost had a walk of shame Surprised but just managed a final upwind run, with a bit of slogging to get me homeCool

Futura 141, Lightning 8.5m (tuned by Dangerous Davenport), 54cm Canefire

Got down to Melville as the breeze came in (more like a whiff of fresh air than a breeze). Decided to go the 8.5m and 141 and to stay out past the sandbar.  Had some fun with the Sunday yachts and dinghies.  Saw a few of the usual diehards - TROUTY and Co - in the middle.  Not a bad day all round.

6.5 T4 & 94Lt Exocet & FW Weedie

After spending what seemed like a lifetime chatting on the beach & hearing Elmo's shark tales, I decided I had to rig a sailUndecided

I was hoping the wind would come in & we had been promised it would happen between 2.30 & 3pm - twas a little lateSmile

My fear of big bitey things caused me to take all my gybes very slowly & we all know that is the absolute wrong thing to do, luckily I managed to use a bit of muscle to avoid falling inEmbarassed

Drags were challenging (only to myself) but I had great fun. Also tested a smaller board & managed to get my top speed for the dayLaughing

Great day - thanks Manudrah Mobbers for making us all so welcomeCool

Exocet Cross 104L with 7.5M T-bird & 38cm Vector

Mandurah Drags: A late start after talking crap for a couple of hours under the trees.

The first race started before I was in the water and I played catch-up most of the day.

Spent most of my time in the rear of the field amongst the girlsEmbarassed

Had a go on Annie's new 84L Cross with the 6.5 & was amazed that I got goingSurprised

Chucked the 7.5 on for a run also & was surprised that it actually carried the big sail.

Had a nice free sail arvo, always nice at MandurahLaughing

Nelson & Annie...I figured you'd been at Mandurah...we saw you coming off the Freeway at Leach (tooted)...Alli and I were on the way back from 3 days in the Walpole/Denmark area...lovely part of the world! Checked out Sandy's Coalmine Beach on the Walpole/Nornalup inlet...it certainly looks like a great sailing spot with possible long drags across the inlet. Also had a look at Irwin inlet which has the potential of being even better...it seems to pick up good wind and looks relatively flat water. This area could be a good locale for a Southsiders road trip!

Hiya Steve, I've stayed at Coalmine beach a couple of times in the last few years (on family holidays with a group of friends which meant I left the gear at home). Absolutely love the place. Reg ran a WSP speed event there a few years ago and I believe it was a great weekend (Baldy from the Wannabees attended). I think the WSP website had some video footage at one time.
