Sailed the West Bar with Pete. .... not quite the right direction, but the downwinders were a hoot. We had a crack at the middle channel, but very bumpy.

Sailed with Mick at Watkins Reserve. Bit patchy near the shore, then a few hundred metres out bam! a wall a wind. Just a bit overpowered with 7.0 up in the airLaughing. All those perfect setting with the sail from last Sat were thrown out as I made the sail as flat as possible. Even then I had to luff it at times to cope with the pressure. 48 fin had me up & out of the water in no time, easy up wind; then again being a hydrofoil in 20knts and .5 to 1 mtr swell is a bit hairy. And related to all this is jumping on a 145 Rocket is sort of fun, but not....Maybe should have used smaller board, sail & fin...Didn't feel like those conditions whilst rigging up.

Lots of laughs though, including Mick and his windsup doing impressions of a U-Boat surfacing. How much board do you really need in contact with the water anyway???Wink

LOCATION:  Watkins Reserve

WIND: E-SE- 10-20 KTS

GEAR:  WindSUP, KA Koyote 6.6

Details:  Quick after work sail with Naz.  Patchy wind and a small chop that got bigger once you got out past the pier.  The wind also incresed enough to fully power up the 6.6....Naz was a passenger on a few runs with the 7.

Great fun picking up the larger swell and surfing into shore.

I also went for a NM run straight out and worked out its a long long way from shore!!

Hey boys, seems like a month ago that we were at 45 - Dan's still not on the water and had been finding hard to get medical advice. He shot me a photo of his foot this arvo (lucky I had already had lunch) - its still looking pretty ugly. The foot didn't look too good either! Yes, a bit more south in the wind would have been good, but as I had to leave for Melb by 3, any sailing by 1 was pretty good. The West Bar is still my favourite spot on the inlet (if not the world) to sail.

Updated prognosis is just tendon & ligament damage Jerry, no break which is good. Hopefully back on the water soon.
