Good crew out today. Good to meet JAK from B Blasters - welcome back to Invy!

Now: I've treked to Everest Base Camp (and people still die at EBC), but the upwind trek to the front channel (and downwind return) from the Angling club as a 65kg sailor, holding a 6.0m in 30 knots - HURT SO MUCH MORE!!!

I knew I was getting in to trouble when the board started doing the vertical-crazy-walk, scary in the front beach swells. However, I finally made it to flat water heaven...... -->> I'd like to say that the glassy flat water blasting was worth the effort, but I'd be lying. (I think I was just too stuffed to fully enjoy it)  (maybe I just need to toughen up!!)

Really nice Xmas eve sail.  Got down there late arvo after working getting stuff ready for my little hire business (need to take some cashola off these cashed up tourists around here!!!!Money mouthMoney mouthMoney mouthMoney mouth)

Daz, Wendy & Col plus most others were packing up as i hit the water, ended up having a great sail with Jak (Bono's) and his bro in law (whos a kiter but i'll let him off this week - its christmas!!).  From the sounds of what Juergen said i definitely missed the best of it, but i had a ball anyway.  As far as i'm concerned, Santa delivered early.  If i didnt have the family down from Sydney waiting for me to cook dinner, i'd have stayed out till dark, was lovin' it.

Had to bail just as the speed strip was coming out of the water Cry

Still tentative, but the confidence was coming back as I pushed broad to the windSurprised

Still recovering from having had guns in my face in Israel

LOCATION: Eagle Point.

WIND:  NE-Turning W-SW on a storm front

GEAR:  Kona One down to CA FR 77, KA Koyote 8.2

DETAILS:  Nice xmas eve session at Eagle Point.  No one else was out  Winds were quite fluky initially but then built as the stormfront approached.

Nice long runs with a bit of wind swell.

The storm took about an hour to hit and when it did it was nuts!...big WSW ahead of thunder and lightning meant it was time to come in!!!

Great place to sail, grass rigging area and heaps of water to play in...just like I remembered it 15 years ago

Dazza, HTFU. No really, HTFU. No really, did you eat marshmallows for breakfast?  Wink

Yeah I know that trek can be hairy so I totally get your predicament. Think of the experience as character building. That's how I look at these crazy days!

Well Ado, you really don't understand! It was really really hard. So hard in fact that I felt like crying. I just kept tapping my heels together saying: "I want to go home, I want to go home".!!!!!!!!!!!,!, and I was all by myself, no-one came with me, I was so so lonely!!!! Actually, that front channel is becoming a bit of fun with the new formations - just painful to get there. Either a killer sail or a killer walk from the nearest car park (Veronica St). Have a good Christmas. ;-)

Great sailing in good company, Santa put it on for sure. Thanks Sav for convincing me to return to the second channel, it was worth it. Well Dan, my bro in law admitted that kiters have no chance against windsurfers in high winds, was great to whip his arse on the water again to make the point. Thanks Dazza and Peter for the tips over the day. Was tempted to get down to the entrance but the conditions in the middle channel got me worried. Had some great time today, hopefully its's on again until we leave on 28th Dec.
