Sailing Club, Wallis Lake, NSW, AU

Waited for the breeze to fill in and eventually it did. Bit underpowered to start with but improved as it picked up. Top arvo sail with Rob out on the bank. Pity the tide was so low. NE-NNE 15-22k.   93,10.5, 6.2.

Harrington, Bank #2

Carbon Art Slalom (68 wide), 36cm fin, KA Race 7.1

Sailed with Greg. Wind wasn't a normal seabreeze, it was N-NNE so was coming straight over the top of the hill and was super duper gusty. Had to be lucky to jag a gust near the bearaway but i got one or two nice ones. Took big mumma CA and the 7.1m due to the gusty wind and was pleased with the outcome. Board worked great with the 7.9m last week, but was sensational with the 7.1m today, loved it. Note to self, use the 38cm (or 40cm) fin in future as it was a bit slippery coming back upwind in the gusty conditions.

Great to try a new spot, with clean water, sandy bottom and upright fins. Looking forward to an opportunity in a true NE, as it should be more consistent.

Glad you had a good session on the CA, AJ. That looks like a mega walk on the sandbank, but otherwise looks like a magic spot for a summer sail. Gotta get up there.

I cant take the kudos for this one Micky, MArk.J is always out there playing in the river mouth looking for new opportunities. He and Dion sailed this one a few months back but it was too wild back then. If the wind comes through consistent in a true NE it will be a great Alpha circuit and 10 sec stat. Exact length not sure, one of the boffins should be able to measure it from my tracks. On a NNE, it was similar length to the old run, but on a NE it should be more square for the first half of the run and then provide a longer bearaway into the river mouth (and a longer run altogether). SE should be great for the same reason......looking forward to more testing, maybe Friday arvo if the forecast holds

Done the nerdy boffin thing and it's (or at least your longest track) 660 meters.  The original strip (from my tracks last week there) is 665 meters. So basically exactly the same.  Keen to try the new run- especially on the last of a run in tide.
