Kyeemagh 15-25 knots NE

iSonic 90, Loft Switchblade 7.3  36cm Talon

Another beautiful day out on the water. The usual warm up runs across to Kurnell waiting for the wind to fill in behind the runway. On my second run across the bay I saw a pod of dolphins! I tried to keep clear of them but they kept popping up 20 feet in front of me. A.W.E.S.O.M.E!

The runway run was really bumpy for the southern half - on one run my gps rattled down my arm to my elbow and on another my harness line snapped. Teeth chattering runs! I think the 2sec, 5x10 and NM are all PBs for me at kyeemagh. Such good times Smile

A really nice warm Nor Easter that just started to build as I got there. Started on Koncept 7.5 with Falcon 113 but changed down boards almost straight away to the Falcon 89. Wind kept on building so I changed down to RSR 5.8 and that was nice. Never overpowered but sometimes underdone in the lulls. Chris Ting had his funky new Pryde/Avanti X-ply hybrid sail hooked up nicely and it was fun blazing around with the usual crew of Mike, Rick, Remi and Ads as well as the cameo by Mr Ting.

My nancy boy hands couldn't take anymore so I've come for a spot of knitting to help them heal Kiss

Ahhhh.....dirt biking yesterday, windsurfing today, golf tomorrow, Xmas on Tuesday. I wonder what the poor people are doing? Cool

Quick trip up the F3 to meet Johnny at Peel St for my first sail. Funny place, looks like you would struggle with a big slalom board and a 7.8 and the reality is you get your arse handed to you on a plate. Went out with a 7 and the new Falcon 112 and was Ok for about half a dozen runs then it jsut went way over the top. New Falcon is a weapon off the wind but Im sure I didnt have any idea of how to set it up, very different.

Struggled to keep board on water and the gusts were bloody strong. Not as flat as I expected but like Booti Pt some nice sections to bear away on. Nearly pooped myself a few times realising how shallow it was and trying to back off after a sling shot was scary. Johnny was going well.

Shouldve gone back in and changed down but its a shit to get in and out again due to the wind. As usual took chunks out of foot and shin and was just too overpowered to hang on, havent been that overpowered for a long time!!!!!!!!!!!!

Falcon 112 2013, 7.0 Evo IV, 32 F/O weedster which had one fin bolt in as holes didnt line up, bugger!!

JP 65 Slalom VI,  Maui Techtonics 36, NP RS6 7.2 & then Vector Volt 34, NP RSSmkII 6.2

Well that was fun. Who said windsurfing was bad for your back? That session well sorted mine out, that's for sure!Wink As Mike mentioned, the run way was a tad bumpy and I didn't quite get in the grove on the 7.2. Could of come in and switched down pretty much straight away, but was having too much fun blasting around. Wind swung a little more northerly when I went back out on the 6.2, but lovin' the new smaller fin. It certainly has some serious potential as it flattens the board out nicely and feels a lot more comfy. Might bring the mast back a tad more next time?Undecided

So good to be down there at Kyeemegh though, as it feels like ages. What a spot and what a day! Love to do it all again today, but Christmas social shenanigans beckons. And yes as Rexy mentioned, love that Chris Ting X-ply NP old school Slalom sail. I'm thinkin' that RS6 of mine would look the business with that action also!Tongue out

Very gusty and patchy, started with the 6.7 on the JP 112 but I was way underpowered so decided to change to 7.8 and of course it got just a bit too strong.

Cool

Very shifty even for Narrabeen and didn't think I had managed more than 28 for the 2 second peak, so that's surprising. Using the Fanatic Falcon with H2 6.7m and smaller 32cm fin. Happy New Year to the Cockroaches!
