Canton Beach, NSW, AU

IS94 - 6.6 O2 Loft - 27 Choco weed

Lots and lots of rain. Lots and lots of thick weed.

Wind was very light I'm guessing 15kts max (no white caps anywhere out on the open lake). Rigged the biggest sail I had taken up (way to small)

Short runs dodging weed banks, just a bit of BAFing to try out the board.

Only really wanted to try my new (2nd hand) board. Spent about 40mins in the whater and most of that was just sitting out the heavy down poors.

Long drive there and back in some really bad driving conditions for a short sail  - Desperate or what.

Should have gone out an hour earlier when the tide was a little lower but I was waiting for the wind to settle in.

Speed strip was fine. The wind just stopped for 20 mins, not cool, not keen on swimming for that long. We must put a small bouy on that hungry rock.

Nice piece of flat water down near Waldron Street.

Bugger Dave!! After checking the weather this morning Im glad I went yesterday. At least it was sunny but still super weedy. Still, at least you got out.

Amazing speeds Rick - now I feel really bad for sleeping through the low tide!

It wasn't a low tide, but good enough. I think we need to have a picnic and shovel day up there and move some sand around

No, Brett and Andrew V came down to St George for slalom bash. It would have been good for some slalom in front of the club.beers, food shower.

Good idea with the shovels - I'd be up for that. Plus sticking some sticks in around the oyster clusters. Or maybe just making the oysters into the picnic and killing two birds with one stone?
