Day 1

15 -22kts Lake George, SA, AU

15 /17 -23 kts  by Robe Willy weather

I know that is only a rough guide but I'll post it as a rigging starting point for me.Smile

1 run 6.2m OD- 80ltre iso - 21.5cm FF

 then

6.6m - 87ltre iso - 24FF for a little while

 then

6.6m KA Koncept - 80iso -21.5cm FF ( cutdown 24)

Well on the long drive down I had my doubts,"cripes it's a slog", is it worth it? "

After today DEFINITELY!! Tongue out

It may not be PB territory but there weere some adrenaline fuelled yodels out there today as I sailed mega powered through the small chop Laughing

Couldn't find much flat stuff but tthe chop seemed smaller than this time last year. Maybe just that the wind wasn't as strong.

The higher level makes it aa bit easier to start and not as much running aground gybing. Maybe 10" rolling chop at the worst??

Pushed myself to gybe more powered up and in choppier water and I'm happy with the alpha. A bit unco getting back in the strraps on the xit so I'll have to work on that.

Rigged the 6.2m and 80 and went out but too patchy. A few big gusts inclduing one that backslammed me and had me a bit more respectful..Smile

Then 87ltre. I wanted to rig the 7m but it needed the mast I was using so I rigged the 6.6m. It ended up being very powered up by the end so that was good. As it kicked in I changed to the smaller board.

I love those FF. Probably not as fast as some but I love the way they are so safe and you can trust them to hang in there and rip upwind.

I'll start using smaller FF as the wind comes in.

Couldn't get any decent speed in the ''çhop"', I need to weigh more so I don't bounce . Great fun! I should have gone for one more run to get 50kms but I was buggered after driving down and sailing.

2 very tame white /black ducks at the launch..Practically had to kick them to get them to moveWink I rigged then went and got my wettie on and came back to find the buggers sitting in the foot of my new sail! They are also not house trained and shat in my gear.. Anyone for roast duck?Laughing

Lovely clean water. Looking forward to more tommorrow!

Dezza, Andrew, Sammy, Chris & Gabe and others..zzzzzzzzzzz I'll sleep like  a log tonight.
