Another great day at Lake George. Started off 20-25 then picked up 25-30 late on.

Spent the whole day chasing Nautical Miles. Managed 11 over 30 kts and 4 over 32kts.

Great way to end a fantastic week of sailing.

15-25kts SE - SSE 5 mile Lake George, SA, AU

5.5m Mach2 - 80iso- 20FF

 then 18cm FF then 20cm.

One run on 4.6m KA Koncept

Another tour de lake with an enegy sapping trip back when the wind died down.

Started early with the idea of going for an hr but it was a bit patchy, the strong stuff was pretty powered up for gybing and I just didnt have the energy.  Í practised a few gybes over Cockies side in the 10"chop .I was pretty happy with them but they were too wide..Frown

Andrew said he'd show me a nm . He'd just got a good one.

Followed him and went for it out in the chop in the middle- bum clencher ,. Then between the islands where it got flatter but I was too high and lost the wind..Nm was out in the chop. Bounced out of the harness lines and took 100m to get back in as I bounced over the chop Surprised

Sailed around a bit down at the spit and rested .. By then the wind had  dropped off and I was off the plane a bit and struggling to point. It didn't help that Andrew sped off into the distance pointing 20 degrees higher..grr Wink Undecided

In between the islands I was wallowing and not wanting to lose any more ground walked up until I got decent wind off the end. Heaps of small terns! They were so plentiful they were like pebbles on a beach! Bit smelly downind though..Undecided

Got going but I still wasn't making much ground per tack ( should have had a bigger fin  in Undecided) so I got the 'brilliant'idea to get into the  5 mile shore and walk it up to the launch.. Went into Kevs bay and lost the wind and dropped in..Ugh!!! waist deep thick weed and I could hardly move. The shore was 300m away..

Longest 300m of my life..I ended up walking backwards pulling the rig..Once I hit the shallows I breathed a sigh of relief but it was short lived..now it was submerged weed covered rocks trying to break my ankle..

Got to the point where there was wind and decided sailing was a MUCH better option.. The wind had picked up a bit and I got back . buggered..

Put the larger fin in and after a rest went back out- pretyy powered up. Some brown pants yeehaa bearaways at Cockies in 10'- 1"chop ( think I got the 2sec there? ). Couldn't score any wind whenever I got to the flat weedbeds..

It all seemed a lot of effort to go for a 'death defying run bouncing over the chop and get 29kts on the dial so I wasn't very motivated to do speed runs.

I was also tired after about 5 days of overpowered sailing..

Later did one run with Daffy's 4.6m KA Koncept with view to buying it ( I really need a smaller sail than a 5m down here Undecided)..

Had to do a poo stance as even with the lines 3'apart they were 3-4"too long for my little arm and I didn't want to bounce out .Laughing

What a little ripper! So nice to be out in the middle powered up but having it easy.Powerful and shoots upwind! Surprised

I'm sick of being overpowered. Now I might enjoy big days..Smile

I forgot to metion the last time I went down to the spit I was sailing with about 50 black swans flying around me.It was lovely!
