10-22kts SSW - S Buff Pt Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU level 0.34 rain showers 16 degrees

6.6m KA Koncept- Wt57 ( 90ltres) - 21.5cm FF ( cutdown 24)

Am session on my lonesome. The aim for today was to see if I could gybe the WT. I was starting to wonder if the boards gybing wasn't it's strong point but it's definitely me..Undecided

Very happy to get a few good ones..Once I got it going it sliced around on rails..Surprised I wasn't going for alphas as it was a bit patchy so I'd just wait for a gust and go for it .The watch said 18.41 alpha which was reasonable so I was disapointed when it was knocked down..Cry

At least the sail rotates now I've ground 2.5mm off the cam..Cool

I'm starting to feel old..Frown The brain knows what to do but the body doesn't have the energy to pull it off..Undecided

I only did one bearaway which wasn't that powered up. The fin was too deep for starting in the flats so it was quite a walk out for an average bearaway and I didn't bother to try for speed.. I worked my way up towards the pole to get more depth so I could gybe without bottoming out.

No "Budgy" type  flatwater and the flatter stuff only got patchy wind. The rest was 10-15cm bumps.

The wind seemed better out in the chop so I did one run across to the other side..I'd taken all the tail flex out for the gybing practise but put a bit in for the run across the lake. Fun! Still a little patchy but well powerd in the 90cm chop and rollers..

I would have liked to have a few more goes but I expected it to come in at 30kts any time and didn't want to be caught on the other side with a biggish sail..

I went in for lunch and thought I'd put the smaller board and fin on and do a few speed runs. There were some good gusts as I got it ready but then it died to 5-10kts so I decided to go home instead. Of course it kicked in to 25kts after I packed up..Undecided

I'm getting a bit sick of having rain bullets getting my face so I think I'll get one of those clear visored Gaths for days like this..

The  pm boys should get some good speed..

Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU, Southerly 15-25

Falcon 79, 21 techtonics and 5.4 Warp.

Miserable, cold, driving rain, mist, big chop, no weed and not enough wind.

So a pretty normal day at Budgie.

Only the desperados, Sue, Greg, Matt and me.
