Green IS FNQ

CA53 RsR evo 2 Talon 32

Weather Graph Monday had me rearranging my entire week to sail this afternoon

Sunny skies /Strong Winds/super low tide did not eventuate.

One of my least enjoyable sails on Green IS ever.!!!Grey skies meant avoiding shallow bommies was difficult.

New X9 boom clip(mast attachment) broke/New fin hit reef /struggled to point the CA53-couldnt get back to start point so failed to make any use of the Northern Speed Run .

Wind was probably 14-18 knots .AHHRRRrrrrr....

First sail at Green Island in a long time, most of it was great till I had a brain fade and cracked the nose of my board, will be easily fixed.

Got most of my runs in at mid tide, reef covered and a little rough but had a ball. When the tide dropped (quickly) I headed over to Cam's Northern Run but only got a couple of runs in before my day was over. Before winding the CA up I headed below the reef, at the same time I thought I'd take a peek at my GPS, but bugger went arse up Yell Embarassed I'll post a vid here soon Wink

Hey Bob, thanks for taking us to green island, had a great session, will have to do another one soon. Only got 40 minutes on the Garmin, the batteries were still good but the connections are just a bit loose, easy to fix.

Bugger, you better sort that wind out Cam, I'm looking at coming up for a sail at spring tides late May (if there's wind).

Good on you Eddie, sneaking up with the alpha, not bad.  The Garmin conked out because of not maintaining tension on the springs that hold the batteries in, not through buggy software.Wink That board's gonna be second hand if you keep damaging it Firie, Herbie has a way to treat those pesky board noses.

Great times guys .....I'm jealous, out of hospital after a 4 month fight with infections, won't be able to try to sail for another 6 months or more, if at all... YellHave to take up knitting, or drinking. Yell

Firie was the "crack" in the vid water going up ya crack  Na big fella, it went in one ear and out the other, nothing to stop it Wink

Hoppy the board will be fine, easily fixed. I've been over the front at full noise before, this time I was only just planing and in la la land Embarassed

Great to hear you're out of jail mate, been thinking of you, Lyn & Herb have been keeping me up to date. I might talk to Nebs about a drinking division, that'll get us up the ladder for sure.

Snags you should come up in July  http://greenislandspeedweek.com/

Firie,

Have pencilled it in and hopefully the forecast is better than last year (and Burrum this year).

PS -a drinking division is something I could really offer the team some PBs in.
