Peter Johnston (8869km): Burrum Heads, QLD, AU Nice sail at the Northern Run in marginal wind, but enough to get the smaller gear out finally - 14 knots according to Justin. Mostly it was too light to plane out of my gybes. Great to see lots of people blatting up and down. Nice flat water on the run but a bit square for any speed. I just focussed on doing a 1hr with Craig and was going to do some bear aways for speed after the hour but the wind promptly dropped a bit as I finished the hour. So I packed up the small gear only for the wind to pick up again at the end... CA 53 SL with C3 Viper 30cm and 6.6m KA Koncept | ||||||||||||||||||
kato (37520km): Burrum Heads, QLD, AU Big gear again this time onto the Northern run. Really struggled with this combo as I couldn,t get the balance right and spent most of the time fighting the rig and spinning out the fin. Struggled to get over 24kts on the run as it was very square so I had a go at a 1 hr with Pete. Found a few sand bars on the jybes which didn,t help our attempt, but found some faster runs out in the middle of the ocean in the chop. So much for fast flat water. Katelyn joined us out there as well and cracked 10 kts and came very close to planning.Brave effort playing out there with all the speedies Hopefully I can find some balance today and get some speed happening but some stronger wind would be good too Sl66,Koncept 8.5 Venom 40 |
