Bully boy fat Basil (4776km): Peel Inlet, WA, AU Most enjoyable. sailing the 1995 Mistral Electron with the Decrepit stainless steel leading edge weedy and a 5.3 tushy lightning . The batten that I had fixed ? twice broke as soon as I hit the water. Did not do too mch harm as it was about 200 mm back from the canber. Good fun
Decrepit (54483km): Another great sail at liptons, with stacks of great company. I started off with the 48cm board, 5.8 koncept and newly modified 18cm 50d Sammy clone. Just had to try the new fin, and wanted to try some alphas, but I was a tad over sailed for alphas, so tried some bear offs, expected better than 36 so changed to the 43cm board, and gave the sail a bit more downhaul. Think I overdid this beacause I wasn't going any faster, so followed Hardie in.

Hardie (35683km): What sort of an idiot would run out of fuel on the way home other than someone like Sammy? Thanx Binny for the diesel and rescue. Was an Ok sail hard to match Monday's experience. I did enjoy it but not the adrenalin rush of Monday. For those interested in the difference between today and Monday at Liptons = Wind was very gusty today, and was more consistent Monday. The gusts were as strong as Monday but not as long or consistent. Tide was about 18cm higher today versus Monday check the comparison here: http://www.transport.wa.gov.au/imarine/harvey-tide.asp So it appears about 37cm tide is fastest water for Litons. I think when its over 50cm, Point Grey becomes the spot? What do others think? Mistral Speed 95, MS TR7 5.9m, Brand new pepeweed 22/48 felt brilliant, thanx Pepe
(Mu-) fin (15418km): Peel in, WA AU Yep you gessd it, another fun sail at liptons, though not the same as mondy, but stil fun. This time had the 47/40board the Avi 5.3 sail, which I think, wasnt feeling comfortable today, and elmo60/17cm weed. Feeling a bit sore now, but all good.
Firiebob (17842km): Leighton Beach, WA, AU No time to go to Mandurah, had a real urge for some ocean goodness so off to the beach. Plenty of wind and fairly rough but had a ball through the swells.Unfortunately my fittness is crap and no one else was sailing here so only a short go. I'm a happy boy, a open ocean 33 has been a bit of a goal for me, a bit like a 40 on the smooth, truly. I'm really loving this set up, mobs of control, next goal is my ocean Nm. Carbon Art SL87, Tribal 27 SW, 5.8 KA Koncept and boardies, oh and happy birthday to me, now 18
Sammy the snail (29353km): Liptons, another good session with the boys I opt for the 5.8 today knowing was going to be less wind that monday, but also knowing I would not get a 40!! 39 and bit its as far ever got with it many times 5.4 wld have been too small, so maybe a 5.6 wld have done the 40!! Had a ball with the Red Muppet on the other side, THANKS Alby for openning the way AH AH AH , had some awesome runs!!! great session, better that Monday for me anyway. Mr J.BOS I knew you get a 40 agaaaain! and you beat me too on running out of fuel, me was 8ks, you 2 most prob Well done BAZ on the PBs Good time good time Misty47, LWS21, RSR5.8 happy bloody daz!
Elmo (31413km): Tabou Manta 54, NP RSR E7 7.0m, SiC Pepe Weed 19.5cm. Firstly, Huge congrats to Basill for some tasty PB's The call was that the 7m was to big, did I listen to the voices? Nah, not this time was I over powered? shit yeah did I have fun? shit yeah Probably should've come in early and changed down sail but there was allways another run and my test fin didn't realy like going up wind a huge amount with a loooooooot of sail up. Today was a test run for an abrasion resistant fin which I've been bumping my gums about for close to 6 months and I'm quite happy with the results, The Silicone Carbide impregnation makes it a bugger for cleaning up the fin out of the mould but looks to be the bussiness. Had some fun runs in the corner, but after a chat with Boz decided to go play over at Pt Grey for a while as the wind seemed to be getting in there again (it wasn't on my first pass over there). Sammy eventually turned up and we blasted around for about an hour, not as quick as the corner but acres of flat water. Sammy was doing his best demonstrations of the Doppler effect with his blasting yeaharghs approaching then zooming on by. Eventually decided to go back only to find out small fins+big sails= upwind nightmare! Took half a dozen tacks to get back to the corner take of points. Sailed a couple of unimpressinve runs and decided to flag it, told Shane that I was heading in so he let me go (thanks mate) get within 100m of shore and the breeze is again pushing me way down wind, so rather than fight it I let the board run, the wind just kept rising the speed kept going up, best run of the day Coordination was shot after that so a few more tacks upwind and then called it a day. Great day on the water with a great crew out

Oaf (7354km): Peel Inlet, WA, AU Really chuffed to get the chance to get out after work today! Nice to get a bit of exersise. Was after 6PM by the time I got on the water but got to share the last of the daylight with the CST boys. Manta 86, 6.6. HSM GPS |
