1179 days ago 1 categories Liptons what a difference flat water makes. Early session in less wind but long stretches of flat water I did my fastest speeds on my slalom board, then when the wind picked up I swapped to my speed board and faster fin, but much less flat water and I couldnt go as fast. Shows you the difference flat water makes.

1179 days ago Fangyland with Pas, Basil, Joe V, Michael and a couple of others. WT Cruise 287, Koncept 7.0, FF22. High water, no smooth, just more humps and bumps than a Roman Orgy. Good fun arvo. Post more later if I get the chance.

1179 days ago Peel Inlet, WA, AU CA62 koncept 6.2 tws30 water was high so a bit lumpy but wind was good, increased all the time. Would have gone better on the speed board. Had a bit of a off day but enjoyable all the same. A good crowd of locals and visitors. Good times.

Well that was lively.
Last on the water expecting wind to drop..it didn't. Tried some different settings, Pepe fin, was quite nice, a bit jumpy out in the middle, Pt grey had some nice flats just tricky lining up the wind.
After my 2nd run over the other side I noticed a distinct lack of other people on the water,
So only did two more runs over, then a couple of squirts in the corner.
Fun session, no unplanned dismounts, couldn't buy a gybe

1179 days ago Liptons on a recovering session, wind looked good tide not quite as high, so went with the 5,7 koncept, the 48cm board and 23@40/60 weedy, to give me confidence in the chop.
This worked well, I could bear away comfortablly and fly upwind. Not too pleased with the alphas, thought there should have been another knot or two in those conditions, but feet and hands let me down.
Hip is a tad sore but I'll probably get to sleep tonight without painkillers.
Nice to be close to normal again.
Great to finally meet Reg, the latest over 70s contender. Also sailed with Hardie, Waricle and Antman, Paulo, Rocky and Alby were rigging when I came in.
And a bit further up the over 76s ladder, it's basically back to that old thing of needing hours and distance, + a NM, Not quite up to hour and distance yet but an Albany trip could produce a NM

Swang by fangys on my way back, and went out for a sail. Had some nice runs, but it was lumpy, chopy,
and a bit messy??. Still fun, with some top blokes sailing about the place.
Rigged the old custome 48, with Ka kon5.8, and weed45/26cm.
