Lake Cootharaba, QLD, AU

One day the wind will be consistent at 20kts and the lake will be full of even rolling swell , today was not that day! Variable ESE winds due to rain squalls and pretty disorganised chop lead to a good but not great sail. Bit hard to select gear with Andrew , Sam and Phil opting for under and well under 6.5s. Andrew busted an old alloy boom (surprise!?) and was fortunate enough to have Sam close by to sail back and take out a replacement although that seemed to drain his motivation and he did not sail again. I eventually settled on 7.0 OD and the Fox 105 with 31 WS which was a good combination considering the conditions.

Pirates Greybeard and Pete were present to fly the skull and crossbones along with Kenlo-the-brave , Richard-gybe-a-bit , and a retro-gear renaissance specialist whose name escapes me , again.

Nursing my aged back after the pounding it took during recent SE erlies so 50k was a comfortable distance.
