Long lunch! 137, 7.7m, TB MK2 36. Very southerly=> super gusty. Cyclone storm surge properly buried all of the shallow bits so it was go anywhere day. Took a few minutes to waterstart since I had my very own persistent personal wind shadow to enjoy, then such was the steadyness of the breeze launched straight into a 37kt squirt. Some viscious gusts and non planing bits made it entertaining. Back to work with dry hair.

An interesting day Chris but I can't remember seeing you struggling much.....especially when you gybed around me at high velocity several times as I wallowed in the mud!  Your alpha data seems wrong to me, you seemed to be going much faster than 21knots.

Cheers Rob. Was a hoot getting powered up again. Today and Saturday makes up for months of doldrums. Reg, good to meet you and have a chat today. You were having a rest in the perfect place to be gybed around. Thanks :) I do like bearing off full tilt at a broad angle (because its faster) and cranking into a gybe. Faster entry is more fun. Faster faster... But it makes the alpha numbers crap, since they end up too wide. Stropp I did see you downwind but you disappeared.

Chris.  I notice that on the International GPS Speedsailing site that out of the 30 folks who are supposidly faster than you (across the water) that 24 of them only went faster than you at Luderitz.  Your best was at Sandy Point.  Have you ever sailed at Luderitz or La Palme?
