Breeze was more than expected so i had monstrous power.
Doable with the 9.0 however very butt clenching in 20+kn gusts.

I had arranged to sail with Flex at Coodanup today but I was held up at home, so a quick local sail had to do. It was a delightful surprise to see Boz, and even more of a surprise that he was coming in the to change down fins. That left me in a quandary as what to rig, but I went biggish. Probably should have gone biggEST but the set up was fun in the gusts. I finally met up with Reg, our most elusive team member, and then Pacey turned up, so there was a good posse of Pinnaroos present.
Fun in the sun, and it felt especially good if you had only sailed infrequently over the last few months.

1101 days ago 1 categories Nice little session at Melville, flew in this morning so was a bit of a desperate float/sail today. Great to see Anita out and about, good to see Pacey and to meet Reg for the first time. A few out and quite a few winddingers about.

1100 days ago I MET ANITA (at last) and BOZ and Pacey nd Jeff but no FLEX...where was Flex?? However, there wasn't much wind so poodled along most of the time. Good to see Anita doing some decent knots and good to remember BOZ from the 1989 Rottnest return race where he beat me by several minutes!

1100 days ago 2 categories Coodanup, WA, AU Captain said that Coodanup was the go so headed down. Got a fairly late start then combined with road works on Kwinana meant didn't get going till noon. Wind was around 15-16 knots. Since had such a good blast on the pond yesterday thought I'd try the big kit out in same place. Was a good call. Stayed on the plane pretty much the whole time. Clearance was good with the big fin even though the tide was around 10cm lower than yesterday and dropping another 10cm by the time finished. Was magical at times. The glass area was at least 200m long and way wider today, almost total silence...for some laps the water was so still you could see and sail a line of contra rotating vortexes from the fin from the previous direction all the way back for 200m...times like that I wish I had the GoPro going as never seen that before. Was very peaceful and the only company was hundreds of mad jumping fish, sometimes landing on the board. Kept a lookout for the captain or another sail to show the route across if needed but saw no sign. At 1:45 wind dropped to zero for a minute and I started to chug back but within a minute it was back even stronger but slightly different direction. Most of the glass disappeared but wind was dead steady. In hind sight should have lined up our resident Bantam (Reg) to accompany as conditions were ideally suited for him and go for distance as was so easy and peaceful could have easily smashed distance. Only stopped as did 100 clicks and had to wiz back as had guests coming over. 120 Tabou Rocket, 8.6 Severne Turbo M4, 33 TWS
